Out of curiosity, what is people's Tesla Powerwall 2 firmware's at? I'm still on 23.12.2 (which came out last year)

Mine is also 23.12.2.

Numbering convention is similar to the car firmware, ie YY.WW.nnn so that firmware is from a branch started in week 12 of 2023.

See Software Updates | Tesla Support Australia - and note that 23.12.* is still too new (sigh) for that version to even be listed on that page; it often lags the actual releases by a month or two.

To get the smart solar-tracking car charging - ie “Drive on Sunshine” - feature it needs to be 23.12.10 (and the car on 2026.26.* or later). Hopefully not too far away in either case.

Mine was installed yesterday and is on 2023.12.1 - so I'm worse off than you!

Agreed - I find it curious that the display doesnt employ some averaging of vision ML data to smooth these flickering out. Even 10frames would be fine.

That's easy. On the right hand side that panel pops off. Just give it a tug and pull it off and then unplug the connector.

You can also disable the light on the HWPC if you want, it's just a LED plug behind the cover.

I still don't understand how it can see school zones, knows they are enforced - show it on the screen (as active/red etc) and still disregard it when engaging autopilot...

This seems to be fixed in 2023.20.7.

Which version?

Looking at TeslaFi 2023.20.8 is now the primary release and seems pretty stable.

But also a small number of cars with 2023.20.9 and one with 2023.26.1

Feature changes only tend to happen when the first two numbers (YYYY.WW) change, with a corresponding set of release notes. The third number changing (eg. my car just did the 2023.20.7 to 2023.20.8 upgrade) is just bugfixes, and the release notes don't change.

Typically. But not always.
Eg. The Xmas updates the last couple of years have bought substantial changes and have just been a .25 third number release.

Speaking of bug additions, it looks like the navigation next-turn doesn't bubble over to the area with the car visualisation when another screen like Energy covers the map as of 2023.20.8.

Worth noting that it will display the version number on the impending update on the mobile app. There is a link to release notes there. But also - if you google the version number you'll probably get a hit at notateslaapp.com, which will list the changes (often including undocumented changes).
