Saw that. It does not answer the question.

Obviously the Tesla Tile cracked from an unknown weight dropped from a height of 1 meter. (Notice it's only compared to brittle slate/clay/terra cotta, but of course not to asphalt shingles, which are certainly more durable).

But a 1" hailstone at terminal velocity?

Where do you live? You get terminal velocity hail?

I'm going to have to stay away from there. Poor birds.

I used to be a meterologist. Virtually all hail is at terminal velocity when it impacts the ground. And I've forecasted for locations that received 3" hail and totally destroyed a fleet of Apache helicopters...not common of course, but the weight demo didn't quite satisfy my curiosity there...
