Got an email today:
"I am still tracking the progress of your Model 3. Right now we are waiting for your vehicle to get assigned to a truck for transport to Austin. I’m still working to get a Solid ETA but don’t have any at the moment.

I will check back in with you when I get an update on the status of the move."

At least it's something..

There are no test drives in Austin? I went to the Galleria showroom (or whatever they call it) last Friday and scheduled a test drive a noon the following Monday. You need to test drive.

It is a double-edged sword, you will come away grinning ear to ear and all the more anxious for delivery.

Congrats hmerrill3 on at least seeing your car! I hope you get it soon!

I did the test drive of the RWD M3 at the Galleria July 20th and submitted my order that night. I was so impressed with the RWD I didn’t see any reason to upgrade with performance or dual motor. I was a 2016 reservation holder and I think my 30 day from configuration to possession was simply that I specified a ‘simple’ configuration that was held back in June inventory hold to stay below the 200,000 tax rebate limit.

For what its worth, I've been tracking the United Road website for the last week or so for deliveries to Houston North (I'm scheduled for delivery on Sept 12th), and today there was an insane increase in the number of cars that were "pending pickup" and "in route" from the Fort Worth location. There were also a lot still coming directly from Lathrop. I think that there were around 40 cars from Fort Worth --> Houston added just today to those categories. Other days that I checked there would only be around 8. So that's great news for those that were stuck in the bottleneck.View attachment 330456

Hooray!!! My lost car just showed up as a pending delivery from Ft Worth to Houston. :):):)
:):):):)Along with 45 others coming to Houston and 9 going to San Antonio :):):)

At least now I can see it.

Sure hope they give priority to processing/delivering the "lost" cars at the SC.

How are do you see vins that are pending in UR? I seem to only be able to lookup based if they have been delivered (delivery receipt)

Day 2 reservation for me, stuck at Ft. Worth Alliance. Haven't had too much of a delay yet, fingers crossed my latest ETA is reasonably close.
How did you confirm your car is at FW alliance. I cannot get the info on where my car is. my ISA told it is in CA Richmond rail yard on Tuesday(8/28). My delivery is set for next weekend. I don’t get any response on the location except for a response from my ISA that her job is to get the car to me ASAP. I know she is willingly avoiding the question by just being polite.

Truthfully, it's an inference, because I can't find any solid evidence. I had 8/29 for delivery. Knowing about this drama with stuck cars, I asked my IDA one week ago if she had any insight on the location of my car. She told me "in Texas". Okayyyyy, that covers a lot of area, but I thought it was a good sign. I might have cried if she said OKC at that point. But anyway. I am trying to be patient and not get all worked up over this. Monday I called Cedar Springs, because I assumed I'd have to leave a VM, which I did. No call back, and since my appointment was 9:30 AM on 8/29, I did NOT want to assume no news is good news. No answer at 11AM Tuesday, but at 5:10 I got a gentleman who confirmed the car is "in Dallas" but not at the DC. He said it was carrying an open move order with an ETA of Friday. So I am assuming that is a generalization for the Alliance Rail Hub.

I called Cedar Springs again today assuming I'd once again have to leave a VM, but decided not to leave one. Seems pointless, they don't call back. I then called the 888 number to see what else I could find out. The rep I got told me the car indeed is in the holding hub (at least that's what I think she said, maybe I'm again making an inference), but that there is still a pending move order. Interestingly she told me the car looked like it was due at the DC today, with a ready for delivery date of Friday. That's a little different than the message on Tuesday, but I really don't know who to believe at this point.

I asked her if an "open move order" was any sort of positive indicator, or did all the cars sitting at a holding hub indefinitely just have that status. She wasn't particularly committal with her answer, but she said it's for certain a positive indicator. Again, totally taken with a grain of salt, because you can place three calls and get three different answers to the same question.

At least my current appointment is set for Saturday, so I may just drive there regardless, assuming they are as un-proactive as they were the first time around. I was never proactively told my appointment wouldn't be good, it was only my persistence in calling that saved me a rush hour drive for nothing. It's not that big a deal in non-rush hour situations. Either I will go home with my car or I will go home with information.

Interestingly, my IDA, whom I felt had been doing a good job with being responsive to me has now gone completely dark. She was prompt with answers through last week. I probably pissed her off with my email, even though all I expressed was a disappointment that no one had tried to communicate that my delivery was delayed. Not even flipped out about the delay to be honest. I know she wasn't off Tuesday, because I have a close friend who is working with the same IDA to get his deal finalized. He is less impressed with her than I was. I tried to peel him off the ceiling a couple times, but now I understand how he felt.

Just spent an hour on the phone with Tesla support. I felt a little bad because the very empathetic young lady on the line was just not at all prepared for the situation I was unloading for her. I made it clear that the answer of "Your IDA will contact you" was not going to fly. She is (supposedly) contacting the manager of my IDA and seemed to have documented the specifics of my situation really well (delayed vacation, days taken off for delivery, two loan payments, etc) but boy was she nervous. I am not an intimidating sounding person but she was rattled.

We'll see, I guess! I'm at the no-holds-barred stage in this saga.

I will pop a a bottle the day you post the delivery picture. My spider senses are telling me it will be very soon.

Thanks for the detail. I think once the dlivery is scheduled and the car leaves CA the ISA role kinda wraps up. I say that because the same exact thing happened to me... my super responsive ISA went AWOL when I started asking the location. After three followups and contacting Customer Service she responded to check with local DC on the location of the car.

OK cool. Then I'll just keep calling the DC and/or the 888 number. I'm going to Dallas Saturday unless they actually tell me before then to not come at all (and have more info) or surprise me with "please come get it" tomorrow :)

Same experience here. My IDA was reasonably responsive (reply emails on the same day, pick up phone, etc…) but lately after my car is 'in transit to the sevice center' I can see the level of responsiveness goes off the cliff… I am sure they are all under pressure to get as many customers to pay as possible so there is no incentive to take care those who have already paid like us. Do I blame the IDAs? Not really. However I do blame Tesla for setting up this shitting delivery CONOPS that leaves people like us out dry. A few of 'post shipping delivery specialist' could go a long way…

@hmerrill3 I feel like they are getting “lost” ones a bit of a priority. Ours arrived on Monday mid day and they said if we wanted Wednesday we could get it.

On the main United Road website once you have a VIN that has been delivered to a destination you want information on, there is a sign-up link. Once you sign up and have access to a separate secure site gives you access to current and historical information. The "current" information includes a listing of vehicles in-route (not delivered yet) and those pending pick-up (truck assigned but vehicle not yet loaded).

Oh just a FYI for anyone messing around with settings in the car. DO NOT click the “Adjust Headlights” button in the service menu! It’s a simple fix if you do, it’s just the telling your wife to trust you as you take out the back seat and half the frunk!
Someone is having way too much fun. Congrats and enjoy the ride.

I just looked up a Dallas VIN and clicked register, but not the subscribe checkbox. Is that what one needs to do? I got a success message on the page, but no idea if then I should be able to log in on the same site? If so, I have no password so not sure what to do next.

So haven't gotten a response from my email to [email protected] but I was able to get an email address for the "Houston Orientation Manager", Adam. An email to Adam copied to Mark, Brett and Kyle (basically everyone above him up the chain of command) at 5:50 PM today yielded a phone call and a direct contact number for Adam at 6:43 and a follow-up email at 7:45.

Adam confirmed what I previously discovered, my car has now been assigned a trunk and is awaiting pick-up for the trip to Houston. He offered to provide updates on its status if I wanted, I said it was not necessary since I could now see it and track it myself. He confirmed that delivery was slated for not later than this Saturday but the trip could occur as early as tonight. Looking now at United Road's site it doesn't look like that happening. Man it would be really nice if they could get the car tomorrow morning, prep and deliver it within 36 hours. Would make for a great Holiday weekend.

BTW Adam did confirm that there are chargers at the Alliance Rail Hub (Ft. Worth). He said Super Chargers. I'm just a little skeptical that Tesla has gone to that expense there yet.

Adam did mention that with the June holdbacks to stay under 200K, the deliveries are bunched up and hitting all at once. Everyone really at the SC are excited but are being pushed to their limits. I again harped on my favorite topic with Tesla employees, COMMUNICATION. perhaps if they hear that comment enough they will effect a change.
