The Battle for the distinction....Last Sig to be delivered

Last I heard, I'm still in the burn in stage. Actually, on Saturday they thought I am in the burn in stage. The computer systems was a little unclear. Definitely no delivery for me this week.

So, does it count if your car was damaged in transit and they decide to make you a new one? Or should we give the award to the latest "original" car?

Is that what happened to your car? I'd say award goes to physically taking possession so you might win this award.

Sorry to hear that you are still in the waiting room. I agree that the info we have recieved regarding our status in the manufacuring system has not been accurate. Hopefully the new system that they are putting in place for the Production cars will be more accurate and communicate to the field personnel and the customers in a more efficient manner.

Good question. Mine had a minor flaw but I'm letting Tesla get to it when they can instead of insisting on it being perfect right off the truck. But, I suppose if Tesla intervened in its delivery because they determined that the car was not capable of passing their standards without major re-work or replacement then it should count. Yours got re-worked due to an event that occurred earlier point in the proving and verification process. Is that right?

I think we should have club acknowledgement of the last Sig making its way home in the US, Canada and then the EU, downunder, HK etc.
A simple acknowledgement for posterity's sake since it will truly be a historical event.

No, that was someone else. Mine failed inspection at some point in the process and was scrapped.

Latest update......drum roll, please! It wasn't in burn in after all. The computer tracking system was not accurate. It just passed the water-boarding test. At least she won't leak.

I'm in the running! I haven't heard anything from Tesla and that gives me confidence that I might be the final U.S. Sig to be delivered.

I guess its up to STxTesla to interpret his original posting. However, to me its pretty simple the last U.S. Signature to have their car delivered "wins", period no qualifications.

I hope to be eliminated from the running in 11 hours.

Did it give up any international or corporate secrets while being water boarded? I hope you get it soon. Rooting for you and Larry.

I think that instead of waterboarding terrorists, we should just put them on the Sig reservation list.

Still waiting for S469.

And then there were 2. Larry got his today. Actually was told today that there were "a few."

I bet it will be an Australian Sig, or STL. Still puzzled about how they will manage the Far East and Downunder Sigs after they've started with the Sunset Red (if that's still what it's called). Maybe just bit the bullet, flush the Paint Center red nozzles, and do a run once those Sig sales are closed off.

Although the title of the thread says last sig, the first post makes it clear he's talking about last US sig. Who knows when the last worldwide sig delivery will happen. So far we haven't even had the first non-US delivery (although presumably happening soon).

It looks like I am going to lose this one. Bummer. I got the email today that my car is ready to ship. I don't know if Christmas is coming early or Halloween came late this year. I think I'm leaning toward Christmas coming early.

I did find that the squeaky wheel gets the email. If you need to know who to contact, PM me and I'll send you an email address. Your DS should be able to help too. One thing to keep in mind when you talk to them, their computer tracking system lies. It is not accurate all the time so you need to ask them to actually track it down to confirm status.

The last Sig worldwide has to be through the Paint Center, though, for Sunset Red to be loaded. Or so I gather.

It seems that there are so many moving parts in Tesla's manufacturing process and the numbers of cars finishing up are keeping the delivery specialists hopping. Keeping up with each individual car is not their focus right now...and the cars hit the delivery trucks sometimes before they even know about it. They are really cranking them out now!
