I could have delivered to Maryland, but based on the advice of a local Tesla owner I ambushed at the nearest Supercharger, I picked Raleigh instead. The Raleigh location shows up as my delivery destination with an option to have it shipped to Maryland instead (which is actually fractionally closer, but a less pleasing drive). So the DS is located at the store in Raleigh?

If by DS you mean Delivery Specialist then yes they would be in Raleigh.
They tend to have 2 divisions in a store (maybe more?). First the Sales Associate who takes your order and gives you a test drive. This is also the person you call when you want to change options, colors, anything.
The DS takes over once the order is finalized. They seem to do everything the Sales person does but later in the process. There may be separate Financing people but I have not landed on that square in my game of Chutes and Ladders.

The tesla employee's title that I have been working with is Product Specialist. She took me on my test drive when I came in before ordering, and has been working with me since the order had been placed. That said, nothing has actually happened since then, no dates or vin given.

I talked to someone at the mothership about the potential delay and she said that she had heard something about it too. Since I was so on the fence about the question anyhow, I changed my order back to black on black. They said it might take a week to show up in My Tesla.

I feel more at home in this thread than the forum at large, so can I ask a dumb question here? How does one get a DS assigned to them? I've had virtually no communication from Tesla whatsoever.

I was wondering the same thing and emailed Tesla. This is the answer I got:

"Typically, a delivery specialist will be in contact around 4-5 weeks prior to your delivery, once a VIN has been assigned."

Same here, strange because I did not see any changes in the configurator. I did not receive an e-mail asking to reconfirm the first time and not now either. One has to check My Tesla daily.

Likewise my dashboard is telling me to re-confirm. The only difference I could find was in the car colors. There is another red selection but it say Grey Metallic paint. If you select it you get a shade of grey that is slightly different than the other Grey metallic paint. Not sure if this is supposed to be a real option with a bug, or just a bug.

It seems fairly variable. Last time, I ended up emailing the sales person who originally talked to me who forwarded me on to a delivery specialist who answered my questions and eventually started giving me dates. This time a DS proactively emailed me over a week ago to introduce himself and give me a tentative delivery date. I think this was a bit earlier than he needed to contact me so it comes down to the individual whether they are more proactive (presumably also depending on workload). Actually, having just emailed mine, he is away for a few days so maybe he wanted to get a head start on things before he went away.

I am also wondering about that, I see some people talking about getting calls from their DS on these P85D's and I wonder how did that happen.
On my first order a year ago it was like pulling teeth to get them to communicate, I had to keep calling, even to get the VIN.
So how are they having DS's call people with orders which are so new.

If my Delivery is now December, according to Tesla I should head from a DS on Nov 25 (if I use 12/15 as a reasonable delivery date)

(sorry of some of this was explained in this thread already )

Also, what is the "End of line" date and where do you get it from? When I call Tesla and mention I see others having different information, such as forums and online, they act like they have no clue what it's about.

Read a few messages above. I cut/paste the explanation of EOL that my DS provided. It's the week that your car goes into production.

I have to reconfirm too. I did notice the dolphin grey (even though the icon is red) is back.

And also, the price is increased by around $3 for me. The base price of the 85 kWh used to be $99,800 CAD and now it's $103,300.

er... Maybe I should call them to see if I have to pay for the increase..

edit: Try to build a new car, the dolphin grey is not there but the price increase is there...

edit2: Called my sales rep, he was surprised. I emailed all my config list for all 3 confirms. He said he will look into it.
