Today I heard A. Gore admit on TV the Paris agreement would not have made any difference .... but "we would be sending a message" (or some such quote).

Elsewhere, I read the Paris agreement would reduce the global temperature fractions of 1 degree.

For that little world benefit ... we are going to give Billions of US dollars to other countries?

But I still do not understand why this thread is on the Tesla Forum???
We already give billions this was just targeting it to specific task. It was new money budgeted it is existing money that the State Department has for economic development in foreign nations.

Here is a description how geared towards children from NASA.
NASA's Climate Kids :: How do we know the climate is changing?

maybe you haven't noticed but CA is swirling down the drain economically
Hah. California is carrying the rest of the nation on its back.
Just because you hear something on fox news doesn't make it true. In fact it likely means it's NOT true.

There is no clearer economic study than looking at california vs kansas.
Cali has high taxes on the rich, green energy, and lots of regulations.
Kansas cut taxes on the rich and lets polluters do what they want.
Kansas' economy is collapsing while cali's is thriving.
If right wing lies were true, then kansas would be the healthier state economically. But kansas proves that trickle down is a lie, and so are all the paranoid talking points about green policies and regulations hurting the economy.

Assuming global warming is worsened by humans (a logical but unproven assumption), will a 0.3 Fahrenheit reduction in 100 years be meaningful (doubtful), and are there be more important projects the USA could spend $200 trillion on in the next 100 years (absolutely) is the real question.

The reason I do not want open borders is because I do not want my quality of life to be similar to Venezuela or Mexico.

Let's get rid of the good weather, oceans, beaches, mountains, and an enact the same policies and see which state is a better. California is doing well simply because of its geography and everyone in the world is willing to pay through the nose to live here.

However, keep bringing in illegals that don't pay taxes and consume heavy resources, keep pumping out more Medicaid babies, keep spending on entitlements. Other peoples money will run out eventually and the house will come crumbling down. I will be long gone from California before then.

No, The Paris agreement simply a test run for the New World order, where the US loses power and the UN takes control of the world. It's no surprise that the United Nations is actually in control of the Paris money. This is The true socialist and Democratic agenda where there are no borders but a global hemispheric economy which will mean the end of life in the USA as we know it and everyone reduced to the lowest common denominator (think Venezuela or Mexico), with politicians and the elite in complete control of all world citizens who suck off their teet.

This is what Hillary Clinton, George Soros, Obama, etc. all want.

Hillary Clinton embraces George Soros’ ‘radical’ vision of open-border world
OMG you are not joking, are you. This is paranoid and delusional. There's such a thing as being a world citizen and helping others advance without going all the way to a single global government. This is the same as those who say Trump wants to be a dictator. Not everybody is an extremist. You need to reflect a bit, dude.

Change your news source. Where ever you get your facts is lying to you.
No one is suggesting the US spend 200 trillion and no one is suggesting open borders. Throwing out trump's fake talking points makes you seem like a trump supporter, whether you are one or not, and that's not a good look on anyone.

All of those factors are mitigated by the high cost of living. Yes the weather is nicer drawing in lots of people, but that also creates horrible traffic and high housing prices. But even WITH those things, cali is kicking all the red states' asses, with their failed trickle down economics and low regulation pollution policies.

Heres some of what they teach you if you are on slate to be a spokesman and deal with media.

1. There are different kinds. If you are dealing with a news reporter, expect them to be an inch deep and a mile wide. They want either blood or a sound byte or both. They don't lie as much as they do not really care about facts as much as headlines.

2. If you are dealing with an investigative reporter, study up on them. Many are after truth and will seek it relentlessly. It doesn't pay to lie to them. If the truth is an issue, truly to avoid the interview. Then there are those who do hatchet jobs. They've already written the story, and are seeking corroboration. They will twist your words to get it.

I think it is wrong and a simplification to say all media lies. Lying is an intentional act. Some do lie. Some never lie. And some merely never take the time to know the truth.

I think it is good to read many sources, but if you weight them all the same, you are making a mistake.

I can believe and agree with this assessment.

Why dont you want a world where everyone can freely travel and work across borders. That requires a ton of change. So like I said it is decades if not centuries away. .

I agree it sounds crazy, but I can't figure out any other reason for the left's policies and positions. It makes zero sense to me, other than the New World Order theory.

Why else should we not secure our borders? Why else do libs want us to give up sovereignty to Paris and other nations? @thx1139 even admitted he is pro open borders, just not for many years. He makes good points about the elite class (richer than Soros) funding this. All the anti-Trump sentiment (in addition to his own craziness) is fueled by the left elite who are annoyed they have an unexpected speedbump in establishing their new world order.

Thanks for the opensecrets.org link will check it out

Hey here's a hint - the guy filling his white house with goldman sachs bankers is the guy working FOR the new world order.

We can never "secure our borders" because we have tens of thousands of miles of borders. How many hundreds of billions should we waste so you don't have to be scared of the boogeyman at night?

The left is interested in preserving the future of human civilization. They place that as a higher priority than cheaper fuel. It's called thinking beyond your own selfish interests. Something conservatives suck at.

No one is trying to make the US give up sovereignty. When someone says that, you are hearing propaganda from people who profit from polluting YOUR KIDS' planet. Change the channel.

We have ice core samples providing climate data going back hundreds of thousands of years.
So you're as wrong about that as you are about everything else.

I think you believe in science because you're using a computer. Climate deniers simply decided there is 1 area where science can't be trusted, even though they rely in science thousands of times a day for a thousand different functions.

For as much work as you do defending the profits of polluters, I sure hope youre getting paid for it. Otherwise youre a sucker with stockholm syndrome.

OK, if you don't want to spend money securing our borders, how about deporting criminal aliens versus sanctuary cities? Surely there is no benefit to a civilized society of harboring criminals?

How many hundreds of billions of dollars should we waste so you don't have to be scared of a 2°F rise in 100 years? What makes your bogeyman more important than mine?

At least mine is a real threat now, versus yours as a possible threat in a century.

Please do not insult the intelligence of anti-environment or pro-Trump conservatives. Presume they are intelligent. Instead, insult their failure to factor in evidence, altruism, compassion, and love as having value when making their economics-based political positions. They know they should, they are just not doing it.
