Sounds like we have the same car in order, I placed my order 15th Jan… no details yet and I spoke to the chat guys and I need to wait for a VIN to be assigned … not expecting any updates now until April , I think we’re in the q2 batch
Ordered mine 7th February (3 days before they started quoting November delivery dates). My current lease runs out at the end of June, so as long as delivery is before then, I’m quite happy.

My lease runs out in June as well, bloody evoque cost me £400 on Friday.. 2 tyres and a worn drop link, and it has to go back for a warranty repair drive shaft bearing, I had the balance shafts replaced last year…. And there customer service was awful … for a 28k mile motorway car , well I’ll never buy another Range Rover.. looking forward to owning some electric hassle free motors

i thought this was a great side by side, the charging element definitely

fundamental takeaway for me from this was : all the cars will do long trips basically the same. Unless you do like him, 1000 mile road trips every week, a RWD will be fine. All the cars will also do short trips no problem. To me there are only two reasons to pick a LR over RWD for range (I know audio/power/AWD but I don’t care about those and lots of focus is on range):

1) you do lots of short trips and don’t have the ability to charge at home. LR might mean a once a week topup at a rapid or overnight at a public charger. RWD might need twice a week. The added convenience may be worth it

2) you do regular trips where the round trip is at the edge of the range of the RWD (eg 100 miles each way), where the LR will easily do round trips without needing to stop. This was the one that tipped me over to change my order from RWD to LR as I don’t do many ‘long’ trips, but do quite a few ‘medium’ trips of about 100 miles each way. Its only a 10 minute stop but one more thing to factor in and I sometimes I don’t want the bother. I could (and have) lived with the RWD/SR+ just fine

Didn’t like the reach of the wing mirrors before and that hasn’t changed. may be just how I sit but I want to push them out further to get a better view of passing cars (they’re not too bad with covering rear view-wing mirror-visible through drivers window if adjusted right). But I can see them dipping down as they’re hitting the edge of how far they can tilt out.

and the cup holders are still annoying - too close to the arm rest so its difficult to get drinks out. Maybe I need something that makes them taller so easier to grab?

My delivery date has change from the last week in March to May-June.
If that is the case they can stick the order where the sun don't shine.
They might have some clever people at Tesla but their order and allocation system is frankly bullsh1t.
I have had the same (per my earlier post). I managed to get through on the phone and was advised not to worry about that as those dates don't mean much (which begs the question of why they provide them in the first place:rolleyes:).

The chap on the phone said that I have apparently been assigned a "delivery specialist" for March (whatever that means) and mentioned things have been progressing over the past four days (since I got the original date range in the app) - this makes sense as I was advised via text to take the private plate off the car now (which I sorted yesterday).

My main worry was the trade in valuation and if the may/june dates are correct then the impact on this. I was assured that this is locked in and won't change now. And it might be a moot point anyway if the March delivery is still on track.

I don't remember it being this difficult when I bought the M3P 😄 but I guess demand has sky-rocketed over the past 3 years...

If you dig around in the html source you can see a hierarchy of dates, so if a more specific delivery date is removed or is unavailable it is over-ridden by a less specific one such as an estimate.

"AppointmentDetails": {
"Header": "Delivery Appointment",
"Title": "Bluewater Shopping Centre",
},
"DateAndTime": "Saturday, March 12 at 9:30am",
"Timezone": "Europe\/London",
"Duration": 60,
"TimezoneAbbreviation": "GMT",
"Description": "Delivery Appointment at Bluewater Shopping Centre",
"Action": "Add to Calendar"
},
"EstimateDelivery": {
"copyOverride": "Estimated Delivery: March 04 - March 18",
"message": "We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date. Delivery time frame will be based on order date, delivery location and vehicle configuration."
}

Their (bulk) assignment process flow is probably over-simplified to remove and re-assign dates, rather than modify them. I think we've seen some examples earlier where orders were pushed out only to come back into the same window.

Do a quote online with no reg and just enter the model type. Then call them with the quote reference and tell them you want to buy with just the VIN, and provide the reg later.

That usually works for all makes of vehicles except Tesla as DirectLine are intimately familiar with Tesla modus operandi and fact that they change the VIN number up to twice for any order hence unless you get an inexperienced DirectLine staff on your call, they will not insure with only VIN and shall advise wait until you have your VRN assigned which is usually days to weeks before delivery. What they don't know is that even with the VRN issued by Tesla and in hand there is a chance that the vehicle will still change if they discover during its final Predelivery Inspection (PDI) that it has damage during transport which is very rare but it has happened, some cases mentioned here too. Hopefully you are lucky and you get an inexperience DirectLine staff on your call

I had that private plate text too. It is difficult to understand how their delivery scheduling and logistics which had generated a March delivery could then move to a specific week in March, send a receive a private plate reminder, then move to May/June all in the space of a few days.

Whoever is responsible for this within Tesla must be a very lucky person. I can't see where the difficulty is compared to the delivery of factory ordered BMWs I've had in the past for example. Tesla have a set number of specs built in advance effectively so its incredible they do not know whether that number has been met with orders (delivery on time) or exceeded (delivery slips to next shipment).

It is certainly very strange. But as the guy on the phone said, everything is still good to go for March on my account apparently, including an assigned "delivery specialist" for March, so I hope it is the same for you and any others in our boat (excuse the pun).

I'm putting it in the back of my mind now and will maybe check further updates later this week. I'll pop by on here to see if you (or anybody else) do get any updates during the week.

Fingers crossed for all.

The 2022 M3P is certified with both Panasonic 3L (82kWh) and LG 5L (79kWh) batteries. The cat.3 3D6 rear drive unit (rated 16kW higher, as used in the MYP) is only certified in combination with the LG 5L.

The source code for this inventory 2021 M3P seems to suggest it has the 82kWh batt & 3D6 rear motor:

Amongst the "ManufacturingOptionCodeList" it has:
BT42 82kwh Battery (Panasonic , BT42, E3LD)
RD06 M3/Y Rear Performance motor 3D6

The RD06 option code may be wrong on the website I found, if it's correct it looks like Tesla have been making the slightly more powerful motor with the 82kWh battery??

My M3LR, black with white interior, 18” wheels order came off hold on the 3rd, gave a quick call today and was told all the allocation for the ships incoming have been done and likely be a May delivery…compared to a call I made the other day and was told still strongly likely for an end of March delivery :/
