They'll probably pull last quarters trick... phoning up all the P orders asking them to swop to an LR with acceleration boost... or wait a few more months
I have to say I will be doing this if my Performance does not arrive by the end of June. Waiting since October is beyond ridiculous and starting to spoil the experience of getting this car !!

This is starting to get a bit farcical. Someone somewhere knows exactly how many P's have been on the production line in Shanghai. It seems pretty pathetic to me that this company can't provide a consistent stream of information to the customer about when their product will arrive. Either that or production runs are so haphazard and disorganised that even the factories don't know what the f@ck is going on.

Either way it's not just putting me off the P order, it's putting me right off Tesla. I'm tempted just to go back to Audi from whence I came.

Same -the lease car went back today, and could not believe how efficient VWFS have been about my Audi, taking off a private plate, returns procedures, final invoice etc etc. Tesla - you need to up your game

Same here I’m so tempted to go back to ICE for the same price I could get a low mileage couple of year old m5 xdrive or even a similar age gt-r maybe an rs Audi. Such a shame they could be so much better all they need to do is improve there communication.

This is really frustrating, so many people have phoned up Tesla including me and been told there is model 3 performances on the ships coming over. I personally was told that twice from 2 different advisors. The web site states delivery in May. Other members have been told there are M3 Performances arriving on ships in May god only knows what the right answer is and we will just have to wait. They are pushing long range and SR as those are the cash cow models. It does leave a sour taste in your mouth though. Onwards and upwards !!!

Yesterday I was told by my sales advisor from Heathrow branch, that definitley mid to end may.....

The problem seems to be unfortunately the sales advisors know as much as we do.

probably less. They’ll have whatever the computer tells them. I remember from BMW forums and see it again here - people tracking VIN numbers, GPS tracking ships etc. The sales guys are less interested in that minutiae than those of us desperate for the slightest news

Knowing what you know now, and you went back in time when you clicked the performance model to be delivered in feb/March would you change your order to the long range knowing you would get collection early March ?
I have fallen foul of that before and I know that if I went for the LR to speed up the delivery process it would annoy me in a few months every time I saw a performance go past!

Further confirmation for everyone. My delivery specialist has been ignoring me, but I thought I'd try contacting the sales advisor who's always been super helpful. He was again. He's confirmed that no model 3's will be delivered in May, they will arrive in Mid June with collections the final week of June. He also added that he's not 100% sure, but he thinks they will be coming from Fremont still for the performance model but he'll let me know closer to the date. So not new information, but at least it seems to be confirming what we're hearing.
The other thing to note is that the sales advisors main aim is to clear their stock of LR cars that are languishing in the inventory. I think this person was trying to dissuade you from your M3P order and encourage you to take a LR

I had two test drives, the first was in Jan in a 2021 M3P which we had for 3 hours, picked up at 70% and dropped off at 34%, I wouldn’t say that car got noticeably slower during that period.

Second test drive was last week in a MIC LR which was great, moving from a GLC63S which will reliably do 4.2 sec sprints and the LR is bang on par with that. I would say the P always felt more urgent tho.

Can only hope the Chinese P models have the issue sorted

Reactions: 2021_M3P
Last i heard from our sales advisor this week was that no M3P were loaded onto the first boat but there were three boats headed to the UK in this quarter roughly 10 - 14 days apart and they were expecting the Performance cars to be split across the second and third boats, he used the word June for the first time in correspondence this week. You can never believe eeverything you hear tho as they actually told us at our test drive last weekend that they had confirmation the earliest orders had been built and they were in a position to notify those buyers but unless they are already on a boat that sounds like a work of fiction.

All told i cant complain too much tho, we had a Merc CLA250E Shooting break on order since January, due for delivery 10th May and 10 days ago they changed the delivery date to March 2022 and are apparently struggling to deliver ‘Any’ cars this year!?

I am getting frustrated with the lack of info, but full disclosure, I ordered an Etron Vorsprung last month to supplement the model 3P, they gave me an estimate delivery of Late August, put the order in incorrectly, with an interior option I didn't want, took a week to reply then cancelled the order and re-did it (all to replace volcanic ash trim with aluminium) then came back and said it will be some time in September, maybe October. I think all manufacturers are struggling with supply trains still. I've bought made to order Audis for years and the service has always been exceptional, it seems all over the place at the moment.
