Very nice. If I may ask, how are the number plates attached? Double sided tape or some other fancy means?

I actually have no idea and would assume s88ats is correct. The PPF guy was going through my options when I dropped the car off and asked if I wanted them to get rid of the bulky numberplate holder during the process.

Is it turned on in the settings? Even if it was before, that's the first thing to check.

I didn't even think it would be a setting! but I went out last night and found it/switched it on. Thanks!

Although, it still seems like the range from my car to where I normally sit in the house isn't far enough to lock the car so I might have to start doing it manually anyway....unfortunate.

Those plastic plates stuck on look nicer than the vinyl. What mounting tape do you use? Worried they might fall off or get ripped off somehow.
I got the pads @s88ats suggested. Worked a treat. Used 6 strips for the front, cutting them up slightly to fit the bracket. 4 for the rear. The beggars aren’t going anywhere, that 3M glue sticks like nobody’s business.

There we go! (I know, she needs a clean!)

Front plate is stuck onto the mounting bracket, rear plate is directly onto the boot.
Looks very clean! I did mine exactly the same way :)

Personally, I've not been a fan of the vinyl 'plates'. The holes behind could be an issue if not filled, and the fact it's only a vinyl sheet that could potentially rip or tear. I prefer something more solid and the 4d plates I have are just that :)
edited to add: if done properly they won't budge - be careful of cheaper pads, they tend to be less sticky. I tried some slightly cheaper ones from the place I ordered my plates from but they weren't as strong. I've not had any issues with the VHB ones, they've been pretty good

Do I take it from this that you retained the original rear section of the front plate mounting. Did you do the same with the rear?

At some point, probably when choice improves (with GB logo on green and BS AU 145e) I'll put some acrylic plates on, with front heavy duty Velcro'd to original front rear mount and rear heavy duty Velcro direct on to body.

Correct. Rear section of front mounting bracket has remained, and is what the number plate is stuck onto. I think it looks quite neat, bearing in mind the front bumper is not flat. The rear has had the entire Tesla bracket removed and the plate is stuck directly onto the boot lid. I considered keeping the rear section of the rear bracket, however it simply didn’t look that tidy.

Buy New Number Plates - Replacement Number Plates from UK Registrations give the option of green flash with UK/Eng/Cym/Sco over it. Have a play with the configurator, it’ll show you what it looks like.

Edit - Cancel that. These are still BS AU 145d. Went out and double checked! Is there any particular reason they need to be 145e?

Thanks but I have tried them a while a go. Apart from not responding to an enquiry I made regarding legality, they are based in Dublin with no way to check on the official plate manufacturer checker - Find your nearest number plate supplier - without them replying I am none the wiser whether they are official plate suppliers or can supply the newer BSAU 145e standard plates or do the same colour green border as the EV stripe.

As for @Cardo's recommendation, they responded to an enquiry within 10 minutes and whilst not listed yet on their website, with a bit of manual intervention appear to be able to do what I require.

The newer 145e has better tolerance to ANPR recognition (ie reduces the chance of mis reading the plate) and are more robust so should last longer - having been required to replace a couple in the past due to them prematurely deteriorating and being picked up in an MOT, a longer life plate is worth the little extra hassle of obtaining ones that meet more robust standards.

Must be a day for changing number plates. I changed mine over - was easier to get a whole new set to match my cycle carrier's plate than get a single plate that matches those on the car. I've kept the carriers on my car, but noticed that it was different to the ones seen on YouTube etc. Long clip on the bottom comes off and the plate slides in to the carrier (with a little bending. Doesn't have the separate 'arms' on each side of the carrier.

That's what I did with mine but I recommend with Pearl White to take off the rear front piece, sand it, spray white & replace behind the new plate. This avoids a black shadow & looks cleaner.
