White on White Interior Waiting is pain

Well that sucks?! The waiting is difficult, and you’ve had about 3 more weeks than I have.

I did receive an email yesterday explaining where and how to make my final payment once a VIN is assigned. I honestly thought the email was a scam. So I called (Tesla number) and oddly enough actually spoke with the guy that sent the email. He explained it wasn’t a scam, but still seemed off? The email said the carrier may deliver my car even if no one was home - really? Anyway, it appears I have a delivery specialist, just no matching car :(
Good luck, hope all goes well!

I checked with my delivery advisor today, and low and behold, he found a P3D- for 50K with white on white. Wow. So all of the performance, a bit more stealth, and a lot less expensive. win/win if you ask me, I can always upgrade wheels later and I like having more options without those huge brakes that I'll never really take advantage of (not planning on tracking).

Man, I've been a car fan for a long time and would always recommend upgrading stopping power when you add power to the car. You think you don't need them, but you never know. Also, after-market brembos will run you ~$4K and the suspension upgrade will be similar. I think the P3D+ is the way to go, but to each their own.

Fair enough, but aren't the AWD brakes good enough? For tracking purposes, I can see wanting larger brakes due to overheating and fade, but one time stops should be more than fine with the AWD brakes, no?

I can't say as I haven't tested it myself. I know personally I want as much stopping power as I can get. If you floor it and something pops up in your way for some reason you want to be able to stop.

I think the P3D- brakes will be fine if not tracking/racing around. I've had a P3D+ for a few days and almost never use the brakes as regen does it all for me unless I need to come to a dead stop, in which case you don't even need performance brakes. And, believe me, I've fully exercised the performance acceleration every day I've had the car :)

PS. Brake overheating/fade will scare the hell out of you when it happens. I was racing around with coworkers in my 91 300ZX-TT down the eastern side of the Cascade mountains in WA and, after a bunch of hairpin turns, was on a level straight section. At about 140 mph I came up to a gentle curve in the two-lane road and lightly braked on entry. It felt like I accelerated forward because I was expecting deceleration. I had no brakes at all! The guy ahead of me with the Lotus Espirit Turbo had no problem.

White/white long-range w/19" wheels ordered 7/25. I received a text yesterday morning stating car was in transit and I should schedule delivery. Well, the link offered 2 dates August 15 & 16th but all the time slots were unavailable. Why so soon? I am missing something?

No VIN info yet but all my paperwork is together and I'm waiting to pay in full until after I receive more info/VIN/delivery phone call.

Is the VIN not showing in your source page?

I ordered a white on white Performance 11 days so and still haven’t been assigned a VIN. When we ordered our LR AWD In June, it was delivered exactly two weeks later here in Raleigh NC. Car was built in June and shipped here before tax credit expired. I had really expected the same outcome with the performance, but saw some people were waiting 4 weeks or longer recently.
