Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Had the number come in at 100k or slightly higher the stock probably would have hung in there until the earning's announcement where the focus would have been on GM's. If in fact order backlog is up, missing the number by 2k or 3k isn't a big deal and the focus on the call will be did the GM...

V10 Impressions from those who have installed the update

Just did a 2,000 mile road trip with V10. Prior to this I had never had the phantom breaking from shade/shadows under an overpass, but it had it happen at least 2-3 times during the trip. Other than that everything worked better than before IMO.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Seymour is the worst of the bunch. He was the one who was categorically saying that unit volume was going to be down 30% or something to that effect. I don't mind their guest having opinions, but they never are held accountable, and in this case they are a source fo the major Tesla FUD machine...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It seems like the V10 software was pushed out faster and to more people. Hard to guesstimate what the revenue recognition impact is going to be or if/it will be discounted into the stock price, but the table is set for a big revenue beat. I think it is safe to say we will see at least sequential...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

TSLAQ FUD was alive and will on CNBC this afternoon. I do think Musk has been his own worst enemy at times, but what they were saying today was borderline if not slanderous.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

CNBC TSLAQ machine at it again. One of the regulars was throwing out what sounds like some ridiculous numbers. Something like Model 3 down 30% y/y.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You can feel the global EV tail winds starting to be an uplift to the stock price, and even some of the skeptics are starting to see that while Tesla will lose marketshare over time, but of a much, much larger pie, the EV only focus of Tesla has given the company a pretty significant competitive...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It looked like a staged video which made the whole thing even more ridiculous. It was two people crashed out driving down the highway and the video would have been filmed from a car driving alongside. The main CNBC person was trying to make more out of it, but LeBeau who covers autos tried to...

Agree. As masterful a job at Musk did with courting the Chinese and getting GigaFactory3 online, I wish he would do the same in the U.S. to alter and enhance the large investor base.

On a positive news moment, with the stock up big, CNBC gives Tesla about a ten second quick blurb, but they did mention that they are raising prices and 16 models?? don't know if that makes sense, but 16 models tax exempt.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I can't blame you despite the potential upside. There is a certain amount of investor fatigue that goes with being a Tesla investor. As Mr. Barron said in his CNBC interview yesterday, the stock is more or less where it is because of a series of unforced errors, and the Wal Mart issue, without...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The core business is doing well, and the gap seems to be widening between Tesla and the ICE manufacturers who are getting into EV production. While I 100% agree that there is a ton of anti Tesla FUD, I don't think the Wal Mart issue falls into that category. Even if this was one of those weird...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yes he did, and that's why I said and I still believe, despite all the disagrees, that the company and Musk have a credibility issue at the moment. If you look at what Tesla is doing, where the legacy automakers are, Tesla would be getting the benefit of the doubt rather than picking every...

Poll: August 16th, 2019 FSD Price increase (or not)

I got railed a bit on the investment thread for saying that in my opinion Musk has a big no confidence vote from most of the professional investment community, and today's no price increase(although I guess it could still happen) is case in point of many of his public statements which don't...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You honestly believe that at the moment Musk does not have a credibility issue with the professional investment community? Yeah I do, look at the short interest in the company. I am long the stock, but you can't put your head in the sand. The 35% or so short interest represents a huge bet by...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think it is commonly known that Musk is not well regarded in the professional investment community. I am not saying it is a bad thing, and personally kind of like how he has told most of the analyst community to pound sand, but in order for the stock price to stabilize and debunk many of the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I've been on audit committees, and usually those type of discussions are a tug of war between the CEO/board and the auditors and the overall policy/culture of being overly conservative vs pushing the envelope within acceptable lines. I would be shocked if milestones are not in place that will...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don't disagree with you, but as far as stock price goes, and confidence in the CEO, it is about delivering on public comments. If that was Elon's way of somehow motivating the team to deliver it may wind up backfiring on him big time.
  34. W

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The bear narrative is definitely carrying the day. All the more important that Musk's most recent communications to the market via Twitter bear fruit. If Tesla doesn't raise prices on FSD Musk will lose even more credibility, and the inference will be that FSD, whatever that looks like, is...

Does anyone know who the access program works? Are owners asked to perform certain functions or test the car out in different scenarios? Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sequential delivery growth is important because the company reaffirmed its annual guidance on the last call. Elon has a credibility issue as it is so if Tesla falls short much short of 100k vehicles the stock price is in trouble. The 2nd near term marker is going to be gross margin, and the 3rd...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I get the skepticism to a degree and every company is a short at one time or another for a whole host of reasons. One reason to temper views on Tesla in the near term is that the auto business isn't great for anyone. However, there isn't an auto/quasi tech company which has the potential upside...

I hope everyone has their head down this quarter. The amount of Seeking Alpha FUD is at an all time high. Service and communication (out of main)

I have had nothing but great experiences with service, but at times I do question the soup to nuts vertical integration. I have had bad experiences at our Ford dealership before, and they are relatively speaking a self contained operation.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

I can't say for certain, but when I ordered our P3-, it initially showed up in my account as a LR AWD Performance. my SA told me that is what would happen and then he was able to modify it after the fact, and the P3-, as we ordered was reflected in our account. Might be worth checking, but from...

Thanks for posting this. I hope that she is even half right, but I do agree with her about the coverage. Other than Ackman's short campaign against Herbalife, I can't think of a company in recent history which has drawn the ire of so many as has Tesla. It really is remarkable. While you can't...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

When we picked up our 2nd Tesla about two weeks ago just talking with our delivery person, it sounded as if July and early August were trending hire than the pre quarter push at the end of June. Only one location, in a big Tesla/EV area, but it sounds like a common theme.
