@Elec Man, see above. Just got 3. Much happier in few short weeks with that than the Y.

Setup mobile service a few weeks ago when I got my new 3. Original estimate was $400+, and I messaged them to let them know I had the unit (from my Y). Told them it was new unit. Today’s estimate is $64.50 for “accessory install”. It’s for next Tuesday and I didn’t want to try the install myself.

He posted about getting a VIN for a white interior on 2/29 as well.

They ended self registration in Texas supposedly in November. Really hurts to lose trade value and having to pay TTL on the full purchase price, so I’m curious to see if this will cost them customers.

Sold my Y on 3/1 and taking delivery of the RWD 3 on Saturday

@dillpickle24, I made the final call today to switch to that same build available now (rather than white int) with earliest pickup date of Saturday. My contacts couldn’t give me any more information than the rest of us have on white interior, unfortunately. Wasn’t that big of a deal to me but...

Site on custom builds definitely should NOT say Apr-May for white interior anymore. I’m calling today about my potential white ext/black int change and delivery this week and will hopefully report back with some decent info for everyone.

Really waffling on my decision between white to black interior. Just lost all confidence in white interior anytime soon after the most recent EDD change. Don’t mind waiting til May but June seems too far out to me. Sold my Y on 3/1 and have car to use, but I’m ready to go on the 3!

@Whitezoid, sorry! Meant to type switched to black interior. I saw it available in app and decided I didn’t want to chance waiting two more months. If someone picked it up tonight and I lost that one, may jump back to white but will see.

Switched to white interior but they want me to pick up today so now it shows me as order on hold.

Mine just moved to May 2-June 6

@Rip5Minor, what’s your build? Did your friend mention legit problem or just looked at dates? Mine seemingly still shows gate date of 4/6.

Why do we think it’s a “problem” and not them deciding to start more mass manufacturing after Q1?

Ignored two calls from Tesla a minute ago (location where I scheduled demo). Messaged another friend (different location) and he said “they’re probably trying to convince you to switch to black.” No thanks.

@Whitezoid, nothing at all to due with tax day itself. I guess I should have just typed 4/15. :)

My guess is some white VINs late next week as they ramp these up for start of 2Q with first deliveries around tax day.

Mine has “factory gate date 4/5 with 4/16 ETA” to Texas on white/white. Hopeful that holds.

@xii_ , only thing I’ve heard/seen is alcantara liner on the door panels and better sound system. If you click the LR option then go to interior pics in a mockup order, you can see some of the areas of alcantara lining.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think this error is for newly installed and folks wanting to install. My Y also worked fine until I sold it last week (and removed my module on my own since new owner wasn’t going to use).

Can someone school me on trades? If I accept now in the app am I locked into trading with them and can’t back out? Unlikely my white/white isn’t here in 30 days so this offer will expire anyway, but thought I would ask.

White interior could use some sort of a status update from Tesla for customers, but it’s been looking like Apr-May for a few weeks now.

Isn’t mobile tech install still free?

Tesla lowballs trades and now doesn’t let you register your own vehicle (at least in TX), so I’m facing the full sales tax on my purchase after selling the Y to a private party. Their bid was 36, sold for 40. On a few previous Teslas, I could show county my trade in on the new buyer’s order...

Sounds like I just remove from Y and setup mobile appointment and could be OK on new 3. Appreciate all this input.

Can anyone who took delivery comment on software version? Trying to decide whether I remove my Homelink from my Y to attempt 3 install with mobile tech. Thanks in advance!

Great question. Anyone that’s had it on S or X care to comment? I’m going to wait mine out. Really prefer overall look of white and hoping it’s only another 30-45 days.

Basically delivery tomorrow on white with black interior or wait til May maybe June for white/white. Kind of need the car now (someone buying my Y), and I’m planning to keep for many years.

Have a chance to get the Highland 3 in black seats instead of the white I ordered. Anyone want to throw input on potentially waiting 2-3 more months for white interior now that these have ventilated seats (TX driver, so heat it my only real concern). Long term concern would be which holds up...

Tesla (Texas) is now telling me they register everything so I can no longer register with county myself to show my trade to the state and save on sales tax (new car roughly $42k and selling Y for $40k). This might be a deal breaker for me. Anyone heard about this? As an aside, their offer was...

My 2/13 RWD white/white/18 showed Feb-Mar in all until today which now shows Apr-May.

Test drove RWD last night. Close friend wants my Y, so I’m making the switch. Ordered white/white/18s RWD 3 today.
