On the 22nd of March I saw the inspection Models 3s on the Gold Coast heading south from Brisbane. I suspect they used one of the Brisbane based compliance engineers like Bruce Gearing. I took pics of the 2 x model 3s. At the time I posted the pics on QLD Tesla Whatsapp group.
The SUTI is the...
Does the vibration appear to originate from the drivers side only for all members?
Mine appears to originate from Drivers side (Oz delivered so right hand side). Wondering if US cars vibration is on left side? (drivers side)
If everyone is getting from drivers side this may help pinpoint...
I have had same issue on my June 2016 75D refresh since delivery and have noticed on brand new test drives as well.
I believe it actually may be the mechanism that vibrates for lane departure warnings? It appears to be the almost identical vibrations although not as high frequency as when...
I have recorded average since getting uncorked in 75D. Despite putting the foot flat to the floor more often my average has dropped to 159wh/km (255wh/mi) since uncork and is 166wh/km (265wh/mi) for lifetime after 37,000km.
Had mine uncorked Wednesday. Loved the car before but now it's like dating all over again after being married for a long time.
It's zippier at low speeds and appears to be more sensitive to dabs on the accelerator pedal. Feels more like a race car or street bike. Definitely launches harder...
Was uncorked today at Tesla Brisbane.....was 70D upgraded to 75D some time back, June 2016 build VIN 132###.
Ran power tools and putting out 335kw (used to be 273kw.) Can't get accurate 0-100km(62.5mph) yet as the phone now keeps flying around.
So good of Tesla to upgrade our cars for...
My 100% is 289 miles (466km) on rated range setting. I think the calibration may be different on Oz delivered cars. I can and have driven approx 265 miles on several occasions from 100% charge.
My lifetime average is a little above rated but its easy for me to beat rated in good conditions. I remember working out rated was 159wh/km in my 75D but this could be different in other countries?
My lifetime average has just dropped to 167wh/km
My first 30,000km in my 75D and lifetime average of 168wh/km. (approx 268wh/mi)
Still put the foot to the floor often...so really happy overall on the efficiency.
Had my 75D in for its annual service on Friday (30,000km and 12 months) and was given a brand new 75D loaner VIN201332.
Big difference in performance, wow a second does make a difference!!!!.... so wish I could uncork my older car.
P.S nice to see Tesla extend the range for 60D owners down...
Does Premium Electricity give better performance than regular?
Jost joking......... no is the 75 quicker 0-60 with a 100% SOC vs lower SOC?
At what SOC is performance is limited, anybody know?
75d is very good value given its efficiency and now better performance (hopefully on older builds soon)
In Oz the 100D with identical spec to 75D is $42,900 more expensive. So IMO don't mind paying a little to upgrade the performance.
My run was definite error but notice the Max Kw rating by comparison Rsan vs mine. 357kw vs my 276kw so Rsan's has a power upgrade. My car consistently runs around 275kw max over the past year.
3.0 Sec 0-100km in my 75D using power tools!
Total glitch in the Matrix and must have crossed the space time continuum.
Had some fun with a 0-100km time run and came up as below. It's totally wrong of course so don't know what went wrong. ..........normal run is 5.2 sec.
Any guesses on how the performance upgrade may affect our efficiency? I'm currently on lifetime average of 168wh/km (269wh/mi?) and have found the 75D a very efficient all-rounder with good acceleration balanced with excellent range.
Anyone with the upgrade got any figures yet?
I'd pay for performance upgrade to get my 75D up to the current specs just like I paid to upgrade from 70 to 75.
Dropping a second is a big deal!
Aftermarket post warranty tweaks will happen in the future as more cars age and drop off warranty. Will open new business opportunities.
In the ICE world gaining a second would cost mega $$$. The thought that a few software/hardware tweaks can improve performance so much is a brave new world and will ultimately affect the aftermarket performance shops of the World. As EVs increase in numbers and become the "performance vehicle of...
Although the unexpected random upgrades are annoying, in reality, we have Tesla to thank for forcing other manufacturers to the realisation that EVs are a more viable and practical solution for future transportation. If not for the constant improvements then interest and publicity would drop...
Tesla order page now shows vastly improved performance for 75 and 75D variants.
For Model S
Model 75: 4.3 seconds down from 5.5 seconds
Model S 75D: 4.2 seconds down from 5.2 seconds
Any ideas what hardware improvement might be for new production vehicles?
I read "The Australian" Article on the X.....not a subscriber but no paywall for me.
Poor review and obviously was out of touch with comments like the following:
"Tesla claims its vehicles “have the hardware needed for full self-driving capability at a safety level substantially greater than...
I upgraded from 70D to 75D for better resale value only. The extra range makes little difference to me.
In Australia the upgrade is $750 which is far less than the original price of $4500
Worst Nightmare......dread the thought, hope all goes well with your repairs/insurer.
Aldi of all places had car hail covers with thick padding on sale several weeks back. I went to check them out but sold out in 30 mins. Didn't know such a thing existed but worth considering keep such a thing...
I have a 70D - June 2016 build and have the 75kwh pack but no upgrade as yet. Approx 10,000 miles (16,000km)
I run "Rated" range as closer than "typical" to my driving but my range is far different as we must have different calculations in the background for Australia.
My rated range 100%...
I get similar results.
You will find your display setting for range likely is set on "Rated" whereas many Tesla owners set on "Typical". The energy usage for "Typical" is based on 200wh/km and on rated is far less wh/km
I set my 70D (75D) on "Rated" as it's closer to the real energy use for my...
In Australia price difference between 90D and 100D is approx. $13,500aud extra due to taxes. (Roughly $10,000 usd)
Australian government is not encouraging EVs as we have no incentives!
Full spec P100D is close to $300,000aud. Ouch!
I would like to be more positive and say that the mapping data and learned experiences collected by AP2 hardware may be useful to AP1 and shared down the line making AP1 more functional as time goes by.
Yes less direct money to be made by Tesla but it would be protecting the future uptake and...
Coffs to Gold Coast should be easy in a 70 as have gone both ways in my 70D fully loaded with luggage and pax with careful driving at around speed limit.
Last time I skipped Coffs and went straight from Port SC to Ballina for a small top up before heading to GC.
Do you have access to a...
Speed limit + - 5kmh.
On long trips try and drive smooth as poss if driving manual. If on AP set at 4-5 lengths and on speed limit.
Tyre pressure on 3.2 bar cold
Not trying that hard really as it seems to average out even round town with launches off the lights balanced with normal driving.
While we wait for the long missing Coffs SC link anyone with a 60/70/75 shouldn't be put off making the trip up or down the coast.
My 70D (only approx. 3kwh more than the 60) consistenly can range more than 373km normal driving (not sure if my car is a freak though?).
Recent trip from GC past...
I don't mind the bypasses on the SC Route as driving the Tesla is about the journey not getting to the destination as fast as possible.
On AP you tend to notice more around you while driving and definitely arrive more relaxed, so adding in a few side routes is part of the fun. Recently did the...
Now that Heatherbrae and Mac Castle appear to be moving forward with SC's is anyone eyeballing the Coffs Harbour area for signs of SC development (the missing link)?
Interesting comment on the Tesla Site re ride sharing and selling rides as appears Tesla has plans to set up a service "Tesla Network"?:
Please note that Self-Driving functionality is dependent upon extensive software validation and regulatory approval, which may vary widely by jurisdiction. It...
I have
I have submitted to plugshare so hopefully it shows up.
If anyone is travelling between the Gundagai SC and wants to head to Cooma or Jindabyne via Snowy Mountains Hyw is worth checking out. Only issues is the 6 km one way dirt/gravel track to access. Wayout is same.
How about this for an interesting Charge point?
Found an interesting charge point for EV's in the middle of Kosciusko National Park - Snowy Mountains NSW Australia at Yarrangobilly Caves.
Built in 1936 a Pelton hydro wheel driven by a local stream that disappears into the side of a mountain...
