Carfax Report? [does a minor repair at a body shop appear on carfax?]

:) My auto repair shop said they don't report repairs to Carfax.

Carfax Report? [does a minor repair at a body shop appear on carfax?]

Everything was absolutely documented including accident video, accident timeline, Police incident number, names, phone numbers, email addresses, phone calls with times and dates, estimates, itemized repair parts list, and final invoice (over $1600). Everything was conducted through our...

Carfax Report? [does a minor repair at a body shop appear on carfax?]

Several weeks ago a young fellow backed his F350 Ford pickup into our parked Model 3. He actually only nudged our M3 at less than 1 mph (the onboard cameras caught it all on video) but his trailer hitch ball left a deep dimple and very slightly cracked the paint on the front fascia. My...

    2014 Model S 60 to S 85 battery upgrade?

In 2019 we traded in our low mileage 2014 Model S 60 and bought a new Model 3 Long Range - Dual Motor. Is it possible that after trading it in with Tesla, they could have performed an electronic upgrade on the M60 to make it a M85 using their over-the-air update wizardry? It seems to me such...

    Removing front bumper

This is a job that may best be left to the professionals. Removing that fascia can include connections for: headlights, parking lights, turn signals, fog lights, and several other detectors mounted in the fascia itself. We are scheduled to have that fascia replaced after a County Parks &...

    Sentry mode worked perfectly!

Today while parked and away from the car, a County Parks & Recreation Department F-350 backed into our Model 3. Nobody hurt, but it was kinda weird watching the video as that big old pickup kept creeping back, and back, and back, until the trailer hitch smacked the front of the car  The...

    Supercharger protocols?

We've owned our 2019 M3-LR for a year and a half now and used the Tesla Supercharging network only a few times, and each time there were always plenty of open charging stalls. But as more and more Teslas are being produced, I've heard that Tesla Supercharging locations can get really crowded...

    Charge port door issue

Rocky - which corner of the charge door do I push? I tried pushing several places on the charge port door last night but it would not open until I pressed the icon on the touch screen. Maybe I need to be more precise when pushing a specific corner of the charge port door?

    Charge port door issue

I've got my 2019 M3 LR set up to remain unlocked when parked inside my garage. At the end of the day if I decide to charge overnight, I go out to the garage to plug in but pressing the button on the charger cord will not open the charge port door. Sometimes if I open the left rear passenger...

    Backup Alarm?

A friend stopped by with his 2019 Model 3 yesterday (his car is 2 months older than my Model 3) and as he was backing out, a weird sound came from the car. It sounded sort of like a Star Wars battle cruiser passing by. He said it had been there since new. I rather liked the sound as an alert...

    Sorry, "SA or DA" ??

Date my Model 3 was built?

I know the month and year my Model 3 was built but is there any way I can figure out what day of the month it rolled off the assembly line? We were thinking about having a "birthday party" but aren't sure of the exact date. Thanks.

    Seat Covers

Not actually full seat covers, but we recently bought this rear seat, bottom cover to keep muddy dog prints off the white interior. Super easy to install and clean. Well worth the $40 cost. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VNRK868/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    New .36 is interesting

Funny, the side cameras never appeared on the screen until yesterday. The additional cameras do not work when my wife drives the car! I'm thinking something different in our driver profiles?

    New .36 is interesting

Two days ago we received download 2020.32.3 that included a neat back-up feature. When the car is shifted into reverse, there are now 3 back-up screens to watch. Besides the center camera just above the license plate, the two side cameras now display on the screen. No need to use the side...

    19" Sport Wheel Rim Protectors?

What does "245 rubber" do? Is that a wider than factory tire that will scrape against a curb rather than the actual wheel touching the curb?
  17. FB49

    19" Sport Wheel Rim Protectors?

Bump :-) Has anyone tried RimSavers or RimBlades or Pro Wheel Rim Protectors?
  18. FB49

    19" Sport Wheel Rim Protectors?

Okay, so it happens to the best of us eventually... a bit of wheel rim "curb rash". I've been unable to find an exact color match touch-up paint for my silver/gray 19" sport wheels, so I was thinking of installing a set of these (relatively new to the market) wheel rim protectors that would...

    Model 3 Grille

I think I like this look. Especially moving the Tesla logo from the frunk to the front grille area just above the license plate.

    Continental Tire Replacement

Within a month of picking up our new Model 3 last December, either me or my wife scuffed the right front wheel on a curb resulting in a fairly minor (3-inch long) wheel rash :-( Anyway, sometime in February I noticed a small bulge (about the size of a quarter) in the sidewall of the OEM...

    The Bandit vs Slipstream Bracket

This is the bracket I put on mine. Very inexpensive, easy to install, and I think the slightly lower position of the front plate just looks better on the Model 3.

    Model 3 Quality Control

I found out it is very helpful that you write down the full name of a service tech at your preferred Tesla service center, their exact phone number (including their service center phone extension), and their exact email address. Keep this info handy. A lot of concerns and questions can be...

    New Dream Job

My son just started his dream job yesterday - working for Tesla. He'll be doing design work on the new Pacific Northwest area Tesla website and he is absolutely over-the-top thrilled to be working for Tesla! He bought a new Model S in 2014 and then gifted it to us (his parents) last year when...

Does a Rear Spoiler Keep the Rear Cleaner?

Not really. There is a drain hole in the center of the trough and it can be mounted with the trough (handle) at the top, or at the bottom of the license plate. Also, it's pretty thick clear plastic and is secured with 4 stainless steel screws.

Does a Rear Spoiler Keep the Rear Cleaner?

Closing and securely latching the trunk on my Model 3 has always been a bit awkward using only the interior handle and I'd usually still have to press down on the spoiler to insure a solid latch closure. This product -...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

We picked up our new 2019 AWD Model 3 in August of 2019 and we've run it up to max charge only a few times, but we've never had a screen indication of more than 304 miles. We've had all the updates but still haven't seen that 325 mile range update, or even the original 315 mile range. I charge...

Any experience with 3 adults in the backseat on a trip

My wife is in a small quilting group and all five ladies decided to take a trip to a Seattle fabric store in the Model 3 (about 160 miles round trip). One lady (the smallest) said she couldn't ride in the back seat because she would get car sick back there, so she rode "shotgun", my wife drove...

The front license plate question.... (poll)

I went with the cheapo (bolts through the grille) and it seems to work fine. I like that the plate is a bit lower than the Tesla (stick on) location. If I had known how easy it was I could have bought my own stainless steel bolts/nuts at ACE Hardware for about the same cost.

    Car is always dirty ....?

This is what I use on my Pearl White Model 3 and it works great! However, the car DOES seem to get dirty again pretty quickly, though I still believe the Pearl White shows dirt less than any of the other available Tesla colors.

Month and year Model 3 was built?

August 2019 (08-19). Thanks. I don't guess there is any way to know the date or the day of the week in August it was assembled or left the factory?
  35. FB49

Month and year Model 3 was built?

How can I tell the date (month and year) my Model 3 was built? Is the date stamped somewhere, or a sticker somewhere on the car?

Front right panel protruding slightly. Normal?

What about hood height alignment? The right side of my (August 2019) M3 hood is about an eighth of an inch lower than the left side that matches the fender height exactly. I made note of it to the dealership on delivery and I'm hoping it can be adjusted first time I take it in for service.

This truck design had better be a joke....

Elon, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? All the hype, and THIS is what you give us? This will prove to be Tesla's biggest mistake, ever :-(

    First Service?

We bought a new Model 3 LR AWD in August of 2019. No troubles or problems whatsoever except one minor body panel discrepancy at delivery. When should I take it in for it's first servicing? X number of miles on it or X number of months after purchase?

Model 3 range increase to 325?

Did this Tesla software - (https://electrek.co/2019/03/13/tesla-model-3-range-increase-software-update/) - ever get sent out and/or updated? My (August) 2019 Long Range Dual Motor Model 3 came with a 310 mile range and all indications are that it is still 310 miles. Was this update for...

Seat Belt Extenders for Rear Seats?

The 3-inch seat belt extenders I bought for my Subaru Forester work perfectly on the Front seats of my Model 3 but NOT on the back seats. Any idea why Tesla Model 3 rear seat belt connectors would be different than the front seats? I'm still looking for a source for 3-inch, Rear seat belt...

19" Sport Wheels touch up paint?

Hellp! My wife has managed to slightly road rash the right front wheel already (the car has just over 1K miles on it). Does anyone have a silver/gray paint name, or number, or paint code for an over-the-counter touch up paint I can use on my 2019 M3 with 19" sport wheels? Thanks!

    BMW F80 M3 v Model 3 Performance--From Someone that Owns Both

My wife is hardly ever more than 3 feet from her phone, but I'm still adjusting to needing to carry my cell phone with me everywhere I go. Old school, I guess. But I've found that I don't need to even take my (2019 Model 3) card out of my wallet to unlock the car. If I don't have my cell...

Molded Mud Flaps - Install Question

These are the same mud flaps I bought for my new Model 3 and they look Great on the car! My set came with LF, LR, RF and RR letters molded into the inside of the flaps themselves. We live on an island off the coast of Washington and periodically we do have power outages caused by storms that can, and have, lasted up to 5 days. Pacific Northwest Owners (Seattle, Portland, or towns/cities in the region)

There are several destination EV charging stations here in Oak Harbor including 2 downtown. Picked up our new Model 3 yesterday! Driving home to Oak Harbor I was most impressed with the comfort of the seats compared to our trade in Model S with gen 1 seats.
