It was so easy to manually update it. I don't remember the specifics, but a calculated amount of $7500 showed in an editable box. I edited to $1875 and moved on (and submitted).Turbotax claims the issue will be fixed for the too high tax credit around 2/21/2020.
Form 8936, Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor ... - Community
FDI_8936_EVCredit_ErrorHold - Your tax return is on hold pending ongoing updates to calculations on Form 8936, Qualified Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit. We plan to have the updates to the form done on February 20th, 2019.
So I got notification this morning that my return was rejected:
They keep moving the deadline. Now they say 2/21/20.I got the same message. They're saying they'll have the form updated by 2/20. A bit frustrating for such an extremely simple calculation.
Launched today and my program updated. My Model 3 purchased in March 2019 now shows the 3750 credit and everything calculates correctly. Time to file finally!!!
wait a couple days, even though the form calculates the right amount now, your return will get rejected. i did mine, and everything is right, it now says i will get back $1875. but it is still rejected because the IRS still thinks TT hasn't fixed the 8936 form yet, even though they have.Launched today and my program updated. If you are due $3750, and Turbotax is showing $1875, it is due to you entering $3750 in the box. You instead need to enter $7500. Turbotax now automatically calculates the correct amount based on the purchase date you entered.
I filed last night at 11pm after noticing the correct calculations.
I received a 2nd rejection notice this morning at 9am. I’m assuming the calculations are correct, but not approved by the IRS.
We have a limit of 5 e-file, before we need to physically mail return. I will wait another 24hours for an update, before I trying again.
Ugh. What a *sugar* show. I think I may see what H&R Block says since it looks like I need to wait for TurboTax to get their act together. Didn’t wanna duplicate info, but what do I have to lose?In another thread, Customer Support told someone to wait until Monday the 24th...

What about 8911?I had my H&R Block-generated return accepted by the IRS yesterday with 8936 included.
