For CVRP, I haven't taken delivery on the Model 3 yet, but from my exp., you don't need to wait as long as you have your sales contract, VIN#, and temp. DMV registration.

Thanks! I think they are only giving out Vin # on delivery date now. I got a call yesterday for Tesla and Vin# will be given on delivery date. But you can come in ahead of time to provide payment. You can get you the Vin # and set up your apps.

Yes, it takes forever.......and if you were unlucky like me last couple times, you might need to wait like 6 months for the rebate check arrived.

I live in the bay area and P&GE also offers a $500 rebate. You should check with your local power company to see if they offer anything similar.

It's been nearly 3 months since I applied for the CA rebate. It got approved months ago but I'm still waiting for them to send it.

The approval email said "up to 90 days" before they mail the check. I am waiting for mine to be mailed out too. They suppose to email me when they mail the check.

It took about 45 days when I did it in 2015. Now waiting 90 days plus on this one. Approved over two months ago.

They say it takes up to 90 days after your approval to get the check. I was approved about 1.5 months ago.

I applied early march (approved mid april) and have not received check. Approval email says check will be mailed within 90 days of approval so should no later than mid July.

I just logged in to check my status. No change, I submitted my application on 5/9 and it is still at "Thank you for submitting supporting documents. We will review them for completeness and accuracy. View current processing times."

This is not exactly correct information as I learned the hard way. You must have taken delivery and the contract date must be the delivery date and not the date you entered into the contract. I applied before I took delivery (you have 14 days to upload your documents) knowing I would take delivery in a couple of days. Then after taking delivery I uploaded the required documents including the temp DMV reg. 40 days later I am notified that my submission is cancelled and I must resubmit because the date of submission of the form was prior to my "contract date" which to them is the date of registration, not the date in your contract. Now the wait is out to 55 days and I am having to wait all over again. However, they do reserve the funds for you when you apply.

Thanks for sharing your exp. and correction. All my past exp with CVRP were with traditional dealerships which I did my sale contract, took delivery, and then got my temp registration at the same place same time. So I never experienced any date issue.

Considering that we are still counting votes for the June 11 primaries, I wouldn't put it as greed, just mismanagement.

I was approved on May 15, no check yet. Looks like August hopefully.

I applied on 4/2 and received the Check on 6/25. Application was approved on 4/12. So 84 days for check to be cut based on approval date which is in line with there 90 day rule from approval

If you don't qualify for CVRP (ether make too much or used up your two rebate lifetime limit), can you just have a family member cosign and claim the CVRP under their name? Has anybody here tried this?

If there is name is on purchase contract than yah u can do that

I wonder how much the bigger rollout of the Model 3 each month effects this.

They could have double or triple applications the past few months.
