Sorry if I don't understand what is going on here, but I want to toss another coin into the fountain. Another possibility.
I decided to buy OEM tires from Tire Rack. I bought my all weather tires as Tire Rack put them on sale in the fall, thanks to all you who buy winter tires. I got them for about $100 off regular price. Each.
Before I went this route, I went to a local tire dealer that I had used before, and asked them how much they would charge me for installing four tires. I was told $25, each. Included disposal of old tires, and tire rotations whenever I needed them. I now have near 40,000 miles on my car, and get about 20,000 miles per set. I am getting the third set put on tomorrow. They only charged me $25 per tire, like they said.
Interestingly, I recently got my tires rotated as part of another warranty item, at a Tesla Service Center. Although I had always heard that radial tires should be rotated front to back ONLY, my tire with the slow leak moved from left front to right front. As I was getting it changed soon, I didn't worry about it, but Service Centers are populated by mere humans.
I would highly recommend to the few and the brave among you, to save about $300 bucks every now and then, buy your tires on sale at Tire Rack (the savings include tax and shipping to your house by UPS), and drive them down to your friendly tire dealer and let them do the work. Give them a tour, while you're at it, which they will love. And have them rotate them whenever you want, for free.
