Doesn't that limit it to 70kw on a 400V car anyway?Belmont site up and running in WA. Limited to 70kw. A 150kw site upgrade might be a moot point with a 200A cable limit.

Indeed it does. Around 80kw but Teslas will be closer to 70kw with afterburners on.Doesn't that limit it to 70kw on a 400V car anyway?
Any news on when the Altona North site will be live? Some details about the Ampol portion of the Arena network
Ampol launching EV charger network
Fuel company Ampol has detailed its Australian AmpCharge public EV charging network. BP is planning something similar.www.carexpert.com.au
* 120 DC chargers nationwide by October 2023.
* Five pilot sites by July 2022 in Carseldine (Queensland), Alexandria (NSW), Northmead (NSW), Altona North (Victoria), and Belmont (WA)
150kW in power and two EVs at the same time - so they are doing more than the min 50kW required by Arena funding (although it seems it's the usual CCS2/CHAdeMO combo)
From the pics in the article looks like a stall we haven't seen in Australia.
Nothing on pricing.

Ampol is providing the power Australians need get you moving and keep you moving, with EV charging solutions at home, on the road and for business.ampcharge.ampol.com.au
FAQ suggests an AmpCharge app is Coming Soon, and also looks like they might roll out future chargers in slower and faster speeds.
Also seem likely to sell home chargers and business solutions.
Searching around looks like they may be Italian Amplitronic stalls, and from FB forums seems @Chuq agrees

It's certainly a weird oversight. Two options:So looks like Ampol are only installing 200 amp ABB chargers - Alexandria 200 amp, Northmead 200 amp and Belmont WA 200 amp.
Surely they would have known what they were getting as I assume ABB would have given them the rundown on options and the limitation of 200 amp unit.
Wonder if they would be upgradeable in the future?
It's great to have more chargers but poor form to hamper 95% of the current fleet that will use them.
The thing is that this is the worst arrangement in terms of grid demand. If they're on a demand tariff - and based on the ARENA lessons learned reports, that seems likely especially in the Ausgrid area - then you want your average demand to be as close to your maximum demand as you can, so that the demand tariff is amortised over as much consumption as possible.1. They knew what they were doing, and didn't care - keeps their grid demand down, adheres to the requirements of the grant, possibly keeps people in the store longer to spend more on overpriced snacks.
That would have been the next spec up (HYC-300). The ones in their original plans were HYC-150 (only two cables). If they stuck with the original brand chargers they could have had 3 cables. 2 ccs and one chademo
You can get the 300 case with 150 guts, but maybe costs too muchThat would have been the next spec up (HYC-300). The ones in their original plans were HYC-150 (only two cables).

It's purely used to gain access to Arena Funding.Agree. Chademo is dead. Ampol dedicating 50% of their plugs to a dying charging standard is mental. The Nissan Leaf is the only BEV left using Chademo and that's being phased out.
400 V × 200 A = 80 kW400V Car would be limited to around 100kw
Yes and a Hyundai Ioniq 5 with its 800 volt architecture tops out at 160 for a brief moment at low SOC, confirmed by a checkin on plugshare.400 V × 200 A = 80 kW
Seems weirdly confident when then maths is wrong?400V Car would be limited to around 100kw
It's purely used to gain access to Arena Funding.
They know its dying and have designed the chargers with the ability to switch out to CCS2
