Been a while but wanted to check in on Canberra updates…

I messaged Tesla after the SA’s emailed to sell me a MY…. I asked what was going on, they said “we’re in the process of matching VINs to orders” which I’m sure is code for ‘we have no updates…’

What is the process from here? When do I expect a VIN to be assigned? Firmament Ace seems to be on its way to Hitachi, Japan atm.

Process so far:
28/12/23 - test drove M3 SR and BYD Seal performance in Adelaide - confirmed i wanted the tesla.

30/12/23 (Saturday) - Tesla model 3 SR in Red ordered.
30/12/23 - email - thank you for your order with order number
30/12/23 - sms - welcome to tesla family with order number

2/1/24 - email - Important M3 charging information

3/1/24 - email - Your model 3 has been assigned. Its currently in transit on FIRMAMENT ACE. etc
3/1/24 - sms - A M3 has been assigned to your order (no ship details).
3/1/24 - email - Important information about your new M3 - it is a MY23.5 variant with model trim MT351 (for finance and insurance applications)
3/1/24 - sms - same information as per email MY23.5...

...

My to-do list atm:
- Getting all the NL/financing documents together.
- Decide on a charger & engage an electrician.
- Look into/decide on tinting and paint protection.
- Try to wait patiently for delivery and stop looking at the ship tracker.

Is this the sort of stuff that new EV/car owners go through?

Keep an eye on the tesla app, your VIN will appear in there when you click on Vehicle details. Its probably there now if your vehicle has been assigned.
In the next few days you might get your final invoice, youll need to send this to your NL.

Sit back and relax. You have had a very short turn around compared to many here.
