I am hopeful I will have it in first two weeks of Sept for a mid Oct delivery...I hope that's outside. I am, ideally, hoping for it this week or next. After wednesday a miss is as good as a mile as it relates to my drop dead date for financing this thursday.

If I recall my data there are 350 reserves day1->day 10ish, 110 reserves day 11->Nov 17
One that bubble is, effectively gone, easy peasy.

I know, but that’s not really what I’m asking. I’m trying to clarify, does Tesla provide you with a firm trade-in value based on photos alone? I’m just a bit surprised they would provide a value before physically inspecting the car.
I have not gone through this but I have it on great authority YES. The car has to pretty much match pic. If you additionally get a CamMax quote, I understand they are free, Tesla will take the higher. I took my pics yesterday and go to CarMax on Tues. I imagine they use CarFax as well.

Thanks @wcorey. That surprises me, I guess because it is not the way things traditionally work, which of course shouldn’t surprise me coming from Tesla. I got a quote from CarMax a few weeks ago just to get a baseline. Simple, painless process, took about 20 minutes.

I did not accept Tesla's offer as one of my relatives wanted the car at the price Tesla offered. The wording on the Tesla offer is not firm; they say they will inspect to verify condition when you bring it in. I don't know how much they actually look at since I didn't accept.

After spending hours mauling this decision I finally decided to add white interior.

The things that pushed me over the edge were confirmation that my doc fee would not increase (this is accurate) and they fixed the glitch so my delivery window doesn't scare me by changing (this is also accurate, I changed and stayed sept-nov)

So now I am MSM + White interior! So excited!!! I have always clearly loved white from the early reveal days to the first time I seen it in other Tesla. I just talked myself out of it for different reasons. No more, I'm going in and getting what I want. White it is!

I've been thinking about this with the same exterior color, but the additional cost, my kids, and the fear of delayed delivery (I'm a non-reservation holder) are what keep holding me back. I also sometimes go back and forth on switching exterior to DBM (that color with white interior looks especially nice), but I don't know... feel like I should keep things as is, but I think you've got a winning combo picked out!

Starting to get anxious about this, since my current Model S lease ends the first week of October. I'm really disappointed that I haven't heard anything from Tesla except for repeated attempts to upsell me to a P3D, S, or X. My delivery time-frame is still Sept-Nov, but it'd be nice if I could know whether to extend my lease (with another YEAR of registration fees to be paid for what amounts to one month of use) or have to use uber to get around for a few weeks. Seeing others who reserved after me (4/1) or configured after me (6/27) get their same configs (AWD/MSM/Black/Aeros/EAP) is killing me. It seems like VIN->Delivery is several weeks, so I'm up against that lease-end already.

Assuming it's in writing, hang onto it! Someone on here said Tesla came in $1500 less than CarMax so she gave them the CarMax written appraisal and they accepted it. When I went to Telsa about a year ago and test drove the S, the sales guy told me they ONLY went by CarMax.

That’s because Tesla’s trade-in department is CarMax.

Tesla offered $500 more than CarMax for my 2016 BMW 328i wagon. Both offers were thousands below the KBB estimated trade-in and an equivalent Carvana offer.

Keep your expectations low with Tesla trade-ins if you have a newer/nicer car.
I've already gotten some "we'll pay cash for" kbb offers, some are very impressive. If it ends up they are better than a trade-in with deduction in sales tax, I'll sell outright.

My father has been waiting 2 weeks to hear back from Tesla for a trade-in quote since submitting the info. Last Wednesday his delivery specialist told him she would see what was taking so long but he still hasn’t heard back. Hopefully he hears back soon. Only a couple days left on his vroom.com offer. I suspect vroom will be higher in the end. It was near the high end of the kbb trade in value range and he doesn’t benefit much in his state for tax purposes by trading-in.

I feel like there is a strong chance it’ll actually move me up faster. I just wish I did it a week ago. When they sent that email out to everyone asking if you wanted white interior and explaining how to edit your order. That was the clue they needed more white buyers.

I’m a non reservation as well.

Talk to his IDA, mine was able to get an unofficial quote from the trade-in team. It also depends on how close you are to delivery. If more than 10 days they don't like to provide the quote on the website as it will change (if you owe on your trade-in).

Thanks @wcorey. I think that link just goes to the top of the Summary page.

But I was about to post a couple that have changed recently, including:

And here's the one you asked for:

I tried to change to White interior yesterday. Was told by sales rep that I would also need to incur an additional $1700 additional costs for AWD and color price increase + destination charge. Same change for you?

And here's the one you asked for:

Is that point in time, when you created it or as of when you posted it or, even better, when one displays it? That was, in large part, what I wanted to discuss with you, how to make it, if it wasn't already, really live as of last update, data.
