The ultra-rapid sites have a slightly different icon - they have a few lines next to the lightning bolt.

They used to be orange/bronze coloured, I liked that better because they stood out more!

I had never noticed the iPad view, I guess they expect people will be using the app when they are out and about looking for a charger and will be using a phone!

It would be good if they differentiated DC and AC icons too, big difference between 50kW and an AC charger, especially as most cars don’t even get 22kW AC

BTW very poor form for a Company to not have ipad (landscape mode) support in their app come on and rotate for an iPad - sheesh

A bit O.T. but I've recently started using an ipad (for work) and am stunned that iOS doesn't just rotate a phone app when the ipad is in landscape and have black bars either side.

I’ve tried rotating that big ipad in my model s but it just wont go. Must be because the apps wont rotate.

Are these the 350kw or 50kw? It says Tritium on it and I thought Tritium hadn’t yet released their ultra fast ones just the 50kw.

Is there anything else around the site? Looks kinda dead in the photos. But then again it’s the same for the Tesla SC in Wodonga.

Actually there’s heaps of stuff but i didnt bother taking the photo over my shoulder . It’s located at a big service centre 1km off the highway with the usual servo shop, a cafe, hungry jacks and some other stuff. There’s even a weigh bridge. Nice setup.

There was a larger charger which looked like the 350 but it had a sign on it stating coming soon.

What plugs do the ultra-fast ones offer? Chademo and CCS physically the same as the 50kW ones, or something different? And if they do Chademo, are they limited to 50kW or do they go higher?

The plugs are the same; it's all done in software.

@aegidius @raynewman Since we have a couple of Brisbane residents here, I wonder if you could keep an eye out for Chargefox's Brisbane site? No idea where it is but on April 12 they said it would be "opening within the next month"!

Yes they're not saying if they will use the existing locations where their AC chargers are. No info yet.

So the CCS adapter is coming to EU at least, with a retrofit for older S/X. About the same price overall as the Chademo adapter. I have an enquiry in with Tesla here about when it might come here (no answers yet). I'll be first in line as it will allow use of faster charging than the Chademo adapter when the chargers come on line.
