As an East Coast non-owner who reserved in Sept. of '16, I'm getting pretty concerned about bridging the gap until the 3. The site currently says mid-2018 for a base model, and that would be entirely do-able by me. But I have a 14-year-old Prius that will be at 200K miles by mid-2018...

200k is not that many miles for a Prius.
@hcsharp is correct, 200K miles is not that many on a Prius, or likely most Toyotas. My last two vehicles were Toyotas with well over 200K miles, my current Corolla has over 170K right now and should be at almost 190K when I get my 3. I plan to give it (the Corolla) to my son who, I hope, will get a few more years out of it.

To answer your question though, my delivery estimate for SR is early 2018, for a few reasons I won't take delivery until August though so I think I'll be ok, even if there is a little delay in the estimates.

Has anybody had their delivery window pushed back in December or January? Mine (Jan-Mar) got pushed back a month in November but has held steady since then. Just wondering if anybody's has been pushed back.

To the best of my knowledge the delivery estimates for just about everyone were only pushed back once in November and nothing else since. My original delivery estimate from Tesla was Nov-Jan and was pushed back to Dec-Feb where it has remained since the initial delay.

I put 246,000 miles on a 2004 Prius and traded it on my current 2010 Prius which now, has over 250,000 miles. Right now my daughter is driving it because she hit a deer with her 2013 Prius, and a week later her son hit another deer with the same car. Anyway that's all beside the point. I was number 10 in line on March 31st 2016 at Tysons Corner Virginia to reserve a Model 3. at that time I was not an owner but subsequently have bought a Model X. My delivery specialist assured me that if I use the same email address for both transactions I would automatically be listed as an owner. I haven't seen anything change in my estimated delivery date. I'm curious to know if anyone behind me in line, owner or non owner, has been asked to configure. It doesn't really matter, because I'm probably holding out for AWD if I follow through with buying a Model 3 at all. Just curious as to how that works.

I showed up to Tyson's mall at around 10 am that day to order a model 3. I was not a Tesla owner at the time but I did buy an S in the Q3 sale. I received my invite to configure my model 3 on the 4th.

An excerpt from my production estimates on the other Model 3 forum:

Tesla's progress to 200k US deliveries (and the start of the Federal Tax Credit Phaseout)

"At 10% current owners that's 6,500 which by my estimates should see their invite by the 5th week in Jan. regardless of if they defer or not for AWD/SR.

If we see a non-owner invite before the week of Jan 29th there was either less owner reservations OR production is ahead of my generic numbers, but only time will tell. :smirk:"

Looks like more owners are getting cars soon in GA! I was at the Decatur Tesla Store a few minutes ago and they have 9 cars in the lot. I even talked to the Delivery Specialist who delivered our Model S and he said “the cars are coming faster than people think.” He told me to expect an invite really soon since I have the Dec - Feb delivery window. After seeing every color I don’t know which one to get......I was set on White now I’m considering Blue and Midnight Silver. Looks like it’ll be a great day for some people in GA really soon.

The VINs of the cars reported on Facebook included 1768, 2028, 3133, 3312, 3316, 3326 and 3689.

I configured on 12/11 and received a 4 week delivery estimate. It is now Jan 15 and I do not
yet have a VIN. Be wary that you may have to wait longer than the estimate. If I do not have a VIN
by this Friday I will defer and wait for AWD. Brian

Do you mind sharing your color / wheels / software choices as well as your location? Curious if anything about your order is strange.

If Model 3 VINs is the result page for the vinbot, then it looks like a lot of vins posted here in TMC do not show up there? There was one VIN like in 40XX with pic posted here a few days back, and it also did not show up there?

Anyone know how the VIN bots work and what domains/threads it processes?

I don’t think it works for 40XX, it needs the digits. The bigger snag is that it only uses one Vinbot call per thread, as I found out later. So it hasn’t shown any of the vins I tagged :( .
