Did you forget his covid denialism early on? Covid seemed like the beginning of his disconnect from first principles and when I first started being concerned with his thought process. Things have only gotten worse since then.
Covid and the related reduction in output threatened Elon's needs and wants. That made it the enemy. Instead of implementing a truly effective test and isolate scheme, he made Covid the villain. It took a long time to bring people around to his approach on problem solving and oh so short a time to completely destroy that image of competence.

Perhaps Elon took some advice from the Blue Oyster Cult in not fearing the reaper.

Life under ZC Tyranny (for your own good) might as well be death.
ElectriclAC,
I think you missed my point. Smart people will find a way to address a problem that brings results. Elon's approach picking fights with CA over Covid policies did not bring results. China's approach is most certainly not bringing results. Sweden's initial let'r rip policy did not work either. It would appear as though a policy of test and isolate to control spread giving (1) the virus a chance to mutate to a less lethal version of itself and (2) the advent of vaccines that reduce lethality has provided the best results. Hindsight of course and I do not fault those that tried other approaches and quickly evaluated their effectiveness (Sweden).

It is far too easy to loose sight of a problem by finding a boogyman to concentrate on. Concentrating on "the Tyrant" distracts your attention from the thing that is actually killing you at the moment. In this instance, the bogyman is Covid and the goal is the best possible solution while still advancing your production needs. That solution will likely be the best for your employees as it will keep them the healthiest.

Elon said Newsom was a fascist (he should now what a fascist really is seeing where he came from) but nothing about China shutting him down. Where is
"Mr Free Speech" now. I believe China's plans are to use his tech to prop up BYD, and NIO. They eventually want to put him out of business
China, I heard yesterday insists on using their vaccine which is NOT as effective or long lasting as the mRNA so they are using the not invented here excuse
Sweden lost their mind though I give the other Scandinavian countries alot of credit.

..., it's a really big problem and he absolutely needs to go.

He isn't going to go. :p When I was in grade school, and students acted up, they sent us to sit on "The Bad Bench." This was just inside the main entrance and immediately next to the principal's office. For all to see. Public shame at its best. Elon might need something similar -- but it won't happen.

He just had a meet-up with Tim Cook at Apple's HQ. They walked. They talked. They shook hands. Now Elon says that they're all good now (probably won't last). I'd give real money to know what was said between them.

Oh, and those idiots that were often remanded to The Bad Bench are still bad apples (pun) 60 years later.

My partner has been following Akiva Cohen for some time. He's a top notch litigator and the legal community thinks his case is pretty much a slam dunk.

Twitter is going to lose on this and it's going to cost them a lot more than if they had just paid the promised severance from the beginning.

Oh boy, and now we're back to Hunter Biden's laptop.

I assume this is Elon's way of saying "Don't you EVER, EVER!!! disrespect me."

One of the better articles about what's going on. (Warning, there is some off color language.)
Tim Miller Article

Two years of peace from the clown show is gone. I was, and I'm sure most of the people of the developed world were sick and tired of all this and we were hoping it was not going to be headline news again, but apparently we're in for more of this sort of thing for a while.

Elon, here's the story in a nutshell: A candidate for president has an addict son who has done some stupid things, including filming what amounts to amateur porn. Said porn got into the hands of some bad actors who published it. The candidate, a private citizen at the time, sent take down requests to the social media sites where it was published. Publishing someone's image without their permission is illegal. Revenge porn is also illegal. Neither have anything to do with the 1st Amendment.

In a sane universe this is a non-story of a very minor celebrity (Hunter Biden) who has a more famous father doing something stupid, then bad actors getting a hold of the images and publishing them illegally. Then the outlets where it was published took down the posts after they were made aware of it.

This has happened many times with various celebrities all over the world, most in the entertainment industry. It isn't common among politicians, but the same rules still apply. Illegally published material, material taken down. Material is probably circulating on the dark web, but otherwise end of story.

Elon, quit making mountains out of molehills.

He also talked to Putin. He claims the only time they talked was before the war and it was about something else. But there are rumors they spoke just before he made that tweet. Talking to a world leader and then doing something that could affect public opinion like conveying that leader's ideas to social media is a form of conducting foreign policy. At minimum it's acting as an agent of a foreign power, which is not illegal, but doing so without registering as a foreign agent is.

If he was conveying something the Russians wanted out there, whether it came directly from Putin or from another Russian source, that's acting as their agent. It's possible that he did it on his own, but the bullet point list was very close to the list of demands Russia had at that time.
Ok, so we’re going with the rumor. 🙄

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if the next "explosive revelation" is that Twitter execs had once discussed the warning labels placed on links to birtherism threads on 8chan.

Elon's clearly entering the "Tarantino phase" of his revenge plan and with "the Jews" already claimed by Kanye and "the Libs" already claimed by Trump, he has apparently decided to focus his energy on Joe.

I sympathize with his frustration. Biden sure made a fool of himself by disingenuously pretending as if Tesla didn't exist instead of praising them as the ultimate "American Dream" story. But still, Elon's reaction is childish and unbecoming of a CEO at any level.

I think that the above is a proportionate reaction. The response is double jab.

The statement implies that you can't do road trips in EVs, but Tesla has built its business in part by building its own network that allows a lot of travel right now. In this case the statement is multiply galling for Tesla because it's own network expenditure is going to be dwarfed by the subsidies.

While I'm often taken aback by Musk's spirited comments, poor judgement calls and even occasional obscene content, he sure held back on the "Or you could just buy a Tesla." In effect, this minimal but somewhat snippy tweet held more weight than his usual outbursts. Less is more.

POTUS: The great american road trip will be fully electrified.

Does Biden and some in his administration really think there isn't a current system in place for driving across the country with BEV's?

Well Tesla is slowly becoming the official 2024 MAGA Car.

I remember when the “mission” was to get these manufacturers to move into EV’s, seems like Tesla and some of its owners feel the need to bring “others” down by their EV choices.
