ABS is the material that the creator used. There's no reason for this to be metal. Was that quote for one or two sets? Of the simple one, or long reach one?Use Google to find a local 3D printing service. They typically require that you upload the design files. One such arrive in San Jose quoted me just over $51 for ABS. Metal was much too expensive.
Sorry for leaving out those details. Simple design, one set. I was thinking metal for the piece that inserts into the seat latch. I don't know the tensile strength of ABS.ABS is the material that the creator used. There's no reason for this to be metal. Was that quote for one or two sets? Of the simple one, or long reach one?
For the record, the $160 I mentioned was for ABS, two sets of the simple.
You'd just see my front license plate that is currently stored in that void (Handy tip, folks!)With a flashlight you can look down thru the rear glass and deck lid into the trunk... the mesh insert on the rear deck lid is fairly large.
Seems like a great price for the eight parts then!Sorry for leaving out those details. Simple design, one set. I was thinking metal for the piece that inserts into the seat latch. I don't know the tensile strength of ABS.
So just to clarify - this does not prevent someone from breaking your window, it only prevents them from stealing your stuff in the trunk, Correct?
Correct. Thus the quotation marks. It is a way to protect your cargo. It will do nothing to prevent window smashes unless the bad guys start to think that a lot of folks are locking those seats. So just to clarify - this does not prevent someone from breaking your window, it only prevents them from stealing your stuff in the trunk, Correct?
If only it would work that well. Seems to me that belief has little to do with it. Nobody even bothers glancing at stickers.Yup. Unless you put a sticker on the window saying the seats are locked. And the thief believes you. And that s/he just doesn't pry your trunk lid for the fun of it.
You are the master of URLs TEG! Thanks for the pointers.
Nicely done! I'm thinking that the white makes more sense if you want it to be seen. Maybe even a big ol' stencil on it saying NOPE.I came up with this. It's pretty rock solid. Still the problem with opening the truck via the Display.
