Tesla just opened orders to "Other Europe"! Or specifically Poland, Hungary, Slovenia and Romania.

Design Your Model 3 | Tesla

They give prices excluding taxes (excl. VAT and any import duties) and estimated delivery "Early 2020" :eek:

Delivery location is still Tilburg, Netherlands even though there are now Service Centers in few of these countries.

electrek has an article on this, too:

@hobbes
smmt out with UK registrations for August.
"other" is listed as third most popular car model sold during August. Hint hint has to be the model 3.

Cool! As in the "brand" tab the others number that we usually use to estimate Tesla sales is different (2,293 vs. 2082 in the overview/bestsellers), we can really assume it must be Model 3! @Troy, can you calculate total Teslas the way we usually do and then we can split that number-2082 between S and X?

@Troy ´s method resulted in an estimate of 2227 Tesla registered in the UK in August (1755 3s, 283 Ss, 189 Xs). As we know the actual number of 3s (2082), I´ll make an estimate for S and X based on their ratio (60% S) from Troys estimate, which gives (2227-2082)*60% = 87 S and (2227-2082)*40% = 58 X. Just submitted that.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, Tesla is uncontested leader (26%, down 1%), being followed by Volkswagen (13%, up 1%), while Nissan, Hyundai and BMW, all with 9%, are running neck-to-neck by the last place in the podium. For now the advantage is for the Korean maker.

Did you mean ranking by brands? As a manufacturer, VW includes Audi which pushes them to 19% (plus any models they may have in the 'Others' category).

Europe is definitely looking like a two horse race. VW may take the manufacturer's lead next year with ID3 (plus a few Taycans). Tesla still owns North America, of course, and China remains fragmented.

WV is apparently already struggling to acquire batteries for the eTron (despite the rather measly production) so I wonder how are they going to scale up the ID3 to meaningful levels in the near term. "Taking the lead" next year looks like total fantasy to be honest.

I was quoting Jose Pontes. He uses brands and manufacture interchangeably. VW plus Audi plus Porsche would be VW Group. Hyundai plus Kia would be Hyundai Group. Nissan Renault Mitsubishi is "The Alliance." Or more broadly manufacturing groups. Oddly he includes all GM brands under "Chevrolet."

As pointed out by Compton VW Group already struggles with acquiring battery cells. They have the contracts to supply the cells they need. According to Audi employees sometimes the cells show up and sometimes they don't for etron.
