First P85D adopters stuck in black hole

Probably me so far with no delivery yet. 10 days past first promised delivery of 12/5 so far, 24 days "In Production" so far.

Well I have been in production for 20 days now and I keep getting the run-around with my DS. The same old... the car is built just going through inspection. I was told last Thursday that I would be getting the old seats but still no change or update on when this vehicle is coming.

I am very close to canceling and re-ordering at this point... I am leasing the vehicle so the 2014 time frame really doesn't effect me for Fed Tax Credit. I am also leaving on vacation from the 23rd to 11th and they insist that they will have the vehicle to me by then but at this point I'd rather just wait till I get back... why start my lease and make payments on a car sitting in my garage for 3 weeks.

Also I am not sure I want to be leasing seats that I don't have in my car. They say early January for the seat retro-fit but I have lost a little trust with their estimates... do I increase my monthly lease payment for a feature I may only have 30 months out of the 36 month lease?

Just very frustrated like everyone else in this thread and I was one who picked up a P85+ four days before the announcement of the P85D and autopilot features... on the day of pick-up I was told those features were only on prototype vehicles and at least a good year out... argh!!!!

So who wants to go in on sending some pizza to the factory with me? Don't get me wrong, I think Tesla could have avoided a lot of this. But I am feeling bad for the people working their butts off right now. Instead of darts, let's buy 'em lunch. Anyone?

I don't want to see any pizza stains on my downgraded seats!!!

I wonder how that works if they're offering a retrofit when the new seats are available? What happens if in the meantime I accidentally hit the seat with something sharp or otherwise damage them. Will they swap them out still with new ones no charge? *shrugs*

I'm assuming they can't ship my now-used seats back to Fremont for someone else's car...

Good question. I suspect unless it's obvious that you decided to go all Freddie Kruger on the seats Tesla is going to be pretty forgiving about the seats they take out. I don't think they will put used seats in someone else's new car (even if they are in excellent condition).

I mean, if they can't do anything with them... It might be cool to keep them for another project, like a Tesla inspired go-cart. :D

Congrats to everyone who sees light at the end of th tunnel! And thanks for a few laughs as I read through the last few hours of the thread. Now that I've committed to reordering, I'm almost afraid to see my car finally move into completion; however, it keeps going and going, still in production. Not only that, my December delivery time frame has now changed to:

We will do our best to accommodate your desired delivery time frame. Your Delivery Experience Specialist will provide you with an update on your likely delivery date as information becomes available.

This helps me to justify my decision as it looks unlikely I was getting this car in December. Figure I might as well get a new one fresh off the line with whatever the latest hardware features are.

My earliest original delivery date was December 4th which was predicted when it appeared that,my car was complete on November 26th.
happy days
