LR RWD Waiting Room

My delivery date showed up on my Tesla account today. Delivery April 17 in Montreal. I ordered my Model 3, Long Range, RWD, Red/Black, Aero on March 19th. No VIN yet though. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, about 200 km from Montreal.

Good to hear others in the Montreal area are getting delivery dates. I have the exact same LR RWD, red/black, Aero ordered on March 17. Delivery specialist contacted me with a delivery frame of mid to late April. No VIN yet.

You are a man of impeccable taste :) I've always owned red cars and had initially balked at paying a $CDN 3,300 premium for red but knew I'd be kicking myself for years if I didn't get the color I wanted. Given the amount of crappy winter we get here in Ottawa (almost as bad as MTL) I was agonizing over RWD versus AWD but real user experiences reassured me that with the great traction control the Model 3 has plus a good set of winter tires (I always run Nokian Hakkapeliitta studless winter tires) it should still be a decent winter setup. Be sure to check your VIN when you take delivery so you don't snag my car by mistake :)

I also have the same config.. Seems there will be quite a few Red/Black cars delivered in Montreal in the next week or so :)

Neat! I'm obviously biased but I think that is the best configuration for a Model 3. The long range battery gives you ideal range especially if you'll be running it in Canadian winters. The car looks at its very best in red. The aero wheel hub caps give you maximum efficiency when you need it, but with the hub caps off the raw wheels look very good. A rear engine rear wheel drive is the perfect driving setup (I'm coming from driving old air-cooled 911s for the last 22 years!).

An update to my earlier post. Based on seeing the above in my Tesla account, I emailed my delivery agent (Toronto based) with a few questions. She gave me my VIN (a 2019 build) and the delivery will now be at my home in Ottawa (Kanata) rather than me picking up the car in Montreal. I don't have an update on an exact delivery date.

Also posted to the Canada board: Not holding my breath, but an April 16 appointment has appeared on my order page. LR RWD white exterior/black interior FSD. No VIN yet. Order placed March 12.

Update: Just got a call from Tesla. Originally the guy said the car was in transit but then corrected himself and said it was already onsite and awaiting inspection. Hoping to pick it up on Thursday. A week earlier than the originally delivery appointment.

2019 VIN: 5YJ3E1EA7KF3XXXX White LR black interior

Agreed, but since we get absolutely get no incentive credits in Ontario, I opted for the SR+ but may upgrade to LR as I’m still waiting for a delivery date on my SR+

Tesla just called and said my car is ready to pick up this evening instead of Friday! Can't wait :D

I'm coming from a Mazdaspeed 3 for the last 11 years, also red. I initially wanted silver but they decided to stop making that color. If the blue was lighter I'd be happy to get it but it's just too dark for my taste.

Same for me, I'm coming from a dark blue Mazda3 2008 so we wanted something more "shinny" so Red multi-coat it is :)

Just got off the phone with my delivery specialist. My account page showed delivery in Montreal (I'm by Ottawa), but the e-mail from specialist shows delivery to my house. I called and spoke with her and everything sounds great...she's doing up final paperwork and delivery could be before the weekend; hopefully find out exactly later today. Trading in my Chev Volt. They'll offload the Tesla, and load the Volt. 2019 M3 LR RWD, MSM, FSD. I'm soooo excited!!!

I'm getting closer to purchasing a Model 3 and am torn between the SR+ and LR RWD models as well. So does Tesla always give you an option to upgrade after you select the SR+, or is it luck of the draw? I'd obviously like a chance for a discount, but don't know the best way to go about it as Demo cars appear to be in short supply and difficult to find these days.

Thanks in advance!

You can change up until your car has been assigned. Without penalty that is. I’m sure you upgrade anytime prior to delivery but there may a fee associated.

Congratulations! I'd be interested in a description of your home delivery experience. I'm going to be getting Ottawa (Kanata) home delivery.

I would wait till June to put in an order if you can wait. June will be the end of quarter month and the last month for the US $3750 tax write off. All these deals were at the end of quarter month to deliver the most cars possible for a good shareholder report.

My parents received their Red LR RWD today! Vin 315xxx. Gaps appear to be much better than my (probably tent built) 67xxx. They are very excited about it.
The car was driven to them from the Tesla factory. Spent a hour showing my mom how to use it then took an Uber back. Overall a great delivery experience!
Much better than my pickup in Fremont last August where I drove off with the wrong car.
3 days order to delivery, wow!
