LR RWD Waiting Room

Still no updates on my black/black/18. I don't need a model 3, this will just be a pretty nice car for the commute and driving around town. but I can ride the shuttle just as easily to work and I already have another sedan. If I don't get it before July, probably won't get it at all and just wait for the Model Y.

Even though Tesla sold its first car in 2012, in "car years" the company is brand new. The growth is nuts when you look at it. And they are building the cars, service centers, and a charging network. Plus, they are going it with no dealer middlemen.

The last part sort of explains the entire experience of the LR RWD waiting room. A dealer would just say, "sorry, out of stock, how about this other car?"

Here, we actually sit around musing about production, VIN's and shipment times. And people "ping" cars to find out where they are!

So talked with my OA today, pretty much can get any AWD without FSD for 49,900, they'll comp paint, interior and wheels.

If I was in the market for the 19" wheels and white interior, that would be a significant enough discount, that'll I go ahead and get one of those inventory AWDs.

Damn that's a good deal. I'm here scratching my head now. What did you ask for them to offer you this. ?

Hello! New to this thread. I'm curious if there's anyone else here from Florida with a LR RWD order. I placed mine on 5/22 for black/black, 18" aero wheels, and included autopilot (as basic as it can be). I've been back and forth with my delivery specialist and since last Monday she's been telling me "the vehicle is being built in factory", which I find hard to believe over a week later. She's also told me that orders coming to their delivery center have typically taken 4-6 weeks, regardless of config. Today marks 3 weeks since placing the order, still no VIN, and like others here, I'm hoping for a delivery before the end of the month. Excited, yet anxious to receive my new car :D

Tampa order here on 5/26. Still no vin or communication either for my LR RWD Blue/White/19" sport build. I was told 4-5 weeks too.

I’ve seen Tesla comp the paint or wheel upgrades at the end of Q1 but I have never seen Tesla comp paint, interior (white) and wheels entirely. In theory that could be as much as a $4,500 discount. If they are really willing to do this it may be a great deal for someone who had selected at least one or two of the upgrades in their LR RWD order. AWD doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for folks in Southern California unless they do a lot of mountainous driving in the snowy areas. You lose 15 miles of range but the car is .5 seconds faster so it’s a matter of trade offs. Upgrading to the 19” wheels would mean losing more range. I’m not a big fan of the bigger wheels and tires.

But I would double check with that rep to see if they really meant to comp all three upgrades. That seems excessive to me but anything is possible at the end of the quarter with Tesla.

I forgot to mention I'm in Tampa as well. It's a bit frustrating seeing that the website is estimating a delivery time of 2 weeks, but of course, maybe that applies to their "on-menu" vehicles. Hoping we both hear soon since we practically ordered around the same time.

It sounds really attractive. The less attractive part is that you would still have to pay a little more for AWD still making come up with more . That is we all get offered something like this in the end.

The other worry is that we are forced to choose from available stock and we don't get the exterior/interior and rims that we want.
