About ~$200 more/month with same coverage. I’m with Travelers. SoCal
Same about 400 more a half for just the X and I have 3 cars with Ameriprise. Don’t know who can save with this one.
Tried it with same coverage quote as my Geico. It almost doubled what I'm paying with GEICO. Not sure where they're getting the 20-30% savings claim comparing with other insurance.
Same here. So far Mercury has come in the lower for me in SoCal. AAA quoted an outrageous $7800 annually!! WTH! Can't wait to check out the quote from Tesla once the site's up for me.
Perhaps the 20-30% savings will show up after the algorithm update is complete!
About 30% more expensive than Amica and about 5% cheaper than AAA.
I would like to see how well Flo, the Progressive Insurance lady would do as CEO of Tesla.
If she is not available, I know a talking gecko that would fix this mess.
Not sounding better so far. What about losing the combined policy discount also for combining with mortgage?
That was my first question. Musk seems to think no one has a house, has no family, owns only one car and lives inside it.
It’s like 1D insurance in a 3D world.
Costco/Ameriprise is tough to beat.
Before the site went down, I was getting results similar to others. Tesla Insurance was about twice as expensive as my current premiums on both the X and 3.
I have had USAA for 45 years....got my Model 3 in Jun of 2019.......My insurance is $372.50 every six months.....$745 a year.....I cant wait to see it in February 2020 because some people say after the first year it goes up because of the cost of parts.....Never have has any issues with USAA.....nobody can come close to their rates....clean record and no accidents....When I bought the M3, and called USAA, rates went up by $3........if you can get it, I would suggest you get a quote from them and see how much you scan save.....Notice how none of the advertisements on TV comparing the rates ever use USAA
There is always that diehard segment of Tesla owners that will sign up no questions asked.
"Hey, who insures your cars?"
"Tesla, baby! WOO!"
"Oh, you must get great rates since you also own a Tesla."
"Nope, I pay 30% more than my old insurance. But that's the price of privilege. WOO!"
You should screen cap those numbers and tweet Elon, asking where your 20-30% discount is.
Is this any better than their previous partnership with Liberty Mutual?
Sounds like it may benefit younger drivers with one car and no house.
Still can't get a quote due to "Algorithm update in progress" .......
Mine is going up with USAA at 240 each 6 months. USAA is created for service members. In the past 50 years I have been with them they have opened their insurance up to parents and siblings of the service member. May have opened to other relatives and to others who serve such as police and firefighters. Definitely work checking.
Tesla pauses insurance sales for an 'algorithm update' just hours after launch
Thats disappointing. I'm with Mercury now.
I wouldn't be too disappointed. Mercury has very competitive rates, and they've been in the business a long time.
Can I insure other Tesla products with Tesla Insurance?
Tesla Insurance is a personal auto insurance product. Upon request, Tesla Insurance Services will place your non-Tesla auto policies with a relevant provider.
