Buggar- mine had come forward to 25-30th Sept and now has just dropped back to end of Nov - Dec again. It’s a complete joke, and after I’d got really excited as WBAC had just offered £49k for mine. Still thinking of selling and picking up a complete heap to drive around for a few months in!

Updated VIN, I think this is the right format? I got it when I texted them to ask for the reg (which I also got).

Trade in price has been updated and is almost £5K less 😖 Gutted it's lost that much in a few months and 3000 miles, the car is in exactly the same condition. Looks like it will have to be WBAC or cancel the order.
This is why I never bothered with trade in.

Just kept an eye on WBAC and others before ordering do I had a idea and have worked from there...

I have WBAC as the best currently and my car is going on Sunday as long as they don't insult me...

Hope you manage to sort it out

Nightmare that. Hope you get sorted. I need to move my current car on too when the M3P is ready. I've had a trade-in estimate from Tesla previously (before I placed my order) but not submitted for a new trade-in estimate yet.

Private sale out of the question?

It's more the principle, Tesla offered a good trade in price for June delivery which they could not achieve (not saying this wasn't out of their control due to Corona, but also not my fault either), a couple of months on an they dropped the trade in price by £5K, and now value their own car at significantly less than WBAC . They are listing the same car on their website with slightly more miles but with white interior at just under £57000, so they have almost £10K margin to play with, as it doesn't really cost them anything to add the enhanced autopilot.

The same happened to me back in May when I expected a June Delivery. I almost cancelled my order as well but sold my X5 using Autotrader and got 6k more than Tesla offered me. If you have the time it’s worth the effort. Good luck.

I've got Tesla hassling me for photos of mine when delivery is December, we both know the trade in is valid for 30 days

Sorry for my stupidity but I’m a little confused by the VIN allocating position and wondered if someone wiser and more experienced on here could help?

Am I correct that once your VIN has been assigned the vehicle has been made and is ……
a) heading off to be shipped or
b) is on a ship and heading your way or
c) no one other than Tesla knows
And at this point, unless someone does something to the car en-route it’s yours and delivery is imminent (or at least Tesla’s version of imminent)?

I only ask because my order (early June) keeps flicking between mid-late Sept and then to end Nov-Dec on such a regular basis (obviously no VIN allocated yet) I have no idea when I’ll be getting it and I want to sell my current LR while the prices on WBAC and Motorway are so competitive - I can get by without a car until the end of Sept but not a chance until Christmas!

Many thanks

So it's not an exact science, but from what I understand is that your order doesn't get built specifically for you. Instead they produce a bunch of vehicles and match them to orders. This explains the odd allocation of VINs. So once you have a VIN, your order has been matched to a vehicle. This is also when you can expect to receive some comms from Tesla and see a narrowing of your EDD. That's also when you can connect the dots and work out which ship your vehicle is on (see the Shipping thread). Have you checked for a VIN in source code? Might be a little early - the flurry of activity around VINS being allocated yesterday seemed to be for April orders so May/June/July orders to follow in due course.

That's my understanding at the moment, though admittedly I'm pretty new here too - there are far more experienced on the matter that will chime in soon I'd expect.

Yeah - checked source code for VIN and nothing there - my EDD is only a 5 day window (25th-30th Sept which seems to be quite a common date on here) but it’s changed between that and a much wider mid Nov to 29th Dec twice in the last few weeks and then back again. Tbh I daren’t look in case it’s gone back to the later one again!

I ordered on 7th July and have Nov15-Dec30 as current EDD. Originally it was Dec-Jan but only for a day or two after ordering and has been as it is now since. Keep your eye on the other threads...when you start to see other June orders being allocated VINs you shouldn't be too far behind.

To meet the end of Sept date, I think your car would need to be on a cargo ship leaving at the end of this month (I think it's like 30 days shipping from Shanghai to Southampton). That could be unlikely with a June date - but like I say I'm no expert and could be wrong.
