Looks fantastic and the RC-M is excellent gear. FWIW I saw a Youtube video where the installer designed/3d printed a replacement housing for the rearview mirror that embedded the display unit into the housing below the mirror itself. Super stealth and integrated and right in the line of sight....
I will have to check that out! They told me that they would be willing to put it anywhere I wanted. Where it sits now it rotates for my viewing pleasure 😆

I'm now seriously thinking about doing an integrated laser jammer now for my MS Plaid. Just emailed 2 local shops for quotes, but for the std AL Priority system purchased and installed. Let's see what they come back with. I know it's ~ $1,640 just for the AL Priority system according to their website.
Just to clarify mine is both the ALP with the RC M

ok but could they even catch you if the jammers don't work?

Super helpful. Although their tech support says that to jam "everything" I need 2 regular + 1 high power sensor on front and same on rear. That all adds up...not to $5k but $2640...

Do you REALLY need a rear laser jammer? I mean I understand it would be better protection, but how many police officers check speed via a laser gun AFTER the vehicle has already sped by him/her? Only time I've ever seen police checking speed with laser guns, it's ahead of you as you're driving toward the speed trap. Just saying, right?

From my experience and now seeing this the 19’s are carrying more mph in the 1/8 than the 21’s. I ran 4 consistent 121 to 122 mph with my 19’s. The 21’s seem to run more 118 to 119 mph’s

Sounds like something a salesperson would say to sell you as much product as possible. I don’t speed under overpasses, especially those with on-ramps which puts you at great risk regardless of detection/jamming. With that in mind, I did not get rear laser protection. On a GTR (big frontal area), two front sensors well placed was more than enough to JTG DragonEye consistently, and I suspect the Model S without a front plate would fare just as well or better. Lot’s of tests on the web bear this out on some big frontal-area test subject cars.

Some officers like to get you from behind, and shoot from an overpass or onramp right after an overpass. That’s why I don’t speed under overpasses period. To much avoidable risk exposure in that scenario.

I skipped the rear set up on my 2017 as it is very rare to get hit in the back with Laser (it would only happen if they are sitting on an on ramp looking at cars passing on the freeway, which does happen...but very rare). Plus running the wires to the rear and up into the hatch is a pain. Using the front only set up covers 99% of cases... famous last words, I am sure.

We really don't have many overpasses here in South Florida, so I would think front protection would be sufficient for most driving here. And, for these overpasses, I don't ever recall seeing an officer sitting at the top pointing their laser guns down at the oncoming (or ongoing) cars.

the RC-M is the system of choice and works great. Had is on the car just sold waiting for my Plaid. Do you or anyone know where they picked up the 12v power for the system?

At the request of my SA, I submitted data and pics of my 2020 Model Y LR for a Trade-in Valuation. It was delivered in May 2020 and has less than 3600 miles on it with no dents, dings or scratches. Original cost $56,290 including MSM, black and white interior, destination and documentation, but excluding taxes, fees, and license.

Just got the Trade-In credit from Tesla - $44,000. About 78% of the original cost after 15 months. Thoughts?

Vistan

I think you can pick up 12v (actually like 15v on the Refresh) on the passenger side of the center console. There is small bundle of wires that run to the accessory port plug in there. There are few red wires, the fatter one (on the top left of the pic) is a switched accessory wire. Similar to the set up on previous the generation.

Hah— evasion is a steeper penalty than I’m willing to stomach. This girl ain’t cut out for jail.

I have two components—the one above plus the one below—

Ah, I just "invested" in the escort 360...unsure whether Radenso outperforms. Anyone have experience? The Radenso radar detector and laser jammer integrates, which would be a nice system fully integrated. The ALP does also.

That's only for the front sensors...ALP of course also recommends rear facing jammers

In my lifetime I’ve gotten so many speeding tickets, some from behind (one in the stretch I’m driving tomorrow). I was told by the issuing officer of that particular ticket that speed in excess of 80mph in NC is a mandatory court appearance (unless you have an attorney to appear on your behalf). I’d prefer to not have to deal with that yet again. I’m willing to bet many people on this forum drive faster than 80 on the freeway during their commute. I know myself well enough to know I’m going to speed every day I’m behind the wheel. It started when I got my license and it’s unlikely I’m going to change at 51, so I might as well do what I can to avoid the penalty. As a wise man once said, “I can’t drive fifty fiiiiiiiiiive”.

Staties can be trolling from behind...
