Wiki Model S Delivery Update

It will be worth the wait I assure you... I have been away from the S now for nearly a week but check in on it each day via the App.
Been loosing 2 rated miles per day in always connected mode while on shore power with 45 degrees temp in the garage. Wife says it is just fine....

I'll be in the same boat next week. I leave for spring break with the family for a little more than a week, then go immediately to vegas for 4 days for work. 2.5 weeks and no tesla..

Wow! Congrats!! It's so nice to see a delivery again - after a year of ownership I almost forgot that new car experience and how amazing the first week or two feels. I still get 90% of that feeling every day - something I can't say for any other car I've owned. Congratulations and enjoy your Tesla!

On another note... I haven't looked at this thread in about a year and it's amazing to me how quickly you can get a custom car ordered/built/delivered! I waited about 3.5 months for mine (ordered the day after the "D" event) which was agonizing... you guys are getting cars in about a month with custom configurations which is incredible! Love seeing the new deliveries - welcome to the Tesla family!

Spoke to my DS and he says that shipping information is only updated every dew days in their systems and he can't tell me how its being shipped or ETA's until "next Monday what it updates". Does that sound right?

My car left the assembly line last Thursday, so yesterday I called my DS for an update. He could not get a GPS lock on the car, probably because it is inside a train wagon. He called logistics and was told it is somewhere between their Arizona and Tennessee rail hubs somewhere..... He figured another 2 weeks or so.

Wish they had put some more postage on it. Or picked a different mule caravan.

Leaving in a couple of hours to go pick up my car!

Ordered: 1/29/16
Confirmed: 2/6/16
Entered production: 2/26/16
Delivery: 3/11/16

Wrote the following to my DS (Benjamin Franklin Pepper III) yesterday:

Hi Ben,

As you can imagine, I’m very excited about the pick up tomorrow.

I have been thinking about how I probably ordered my Model S at exactly the wrong time. I missed out on the owner referral offer by less than 3 weeks, I missed out on the $1200 home charger install offer by a couple of days, and I missed out on the new wheel design by about a week. Still, I’ll have a great car. All I’m saying is that my wife and I will be expecting some pretty nice swag for earning the company a few extra bucks!

See you tomorrow.

Sandy how did that work out for you?

Update. My car went into production on Wednesday!!! Should have no problem getting delivered well ahead of end of month. I was initially disappointed that I missed the new wheel update, but I sort of prefer the older wheels now. My Tesla page date hasn't been updated (still showing
Your estimated delivery date is March - Early April) - original wheels, but it did switch from my Order # to my VIN # today? any idea whats up with that? My DS said it would only be 1-2 days to ship from Freemont to LA. I think car should exit production by Tuesday at the latest, likely in LA by end of next week.

So how'd it go? We need to see some pics! And I hope you got some swag!

I'm putting in my order at the end of the month at Park Meadows, so I'm curious how your delivery experience went.

Congrats!

Picked it up yesterday afternoon!

Great to see all these pics and stories of deliveries. My wife and I picked up our car on Friday afternoon (yesterday).

Ordered: 1/29/16
Confirmed: 2/6/16
Entered production: 2/26/16

There was another couple picking up their 70D with the same color exterior and pano at the same time. There's not a big, beautiful area to pick up cars with bows and the like at the Denver service center. We were all kind of crowded into one little area of the service bays, so the pics in this post are not the best. Should have brought a shorter lens than the 55mm. Got a swag bag that included umbrella, pen, lapel pin, and coffee cup. Ben, our DS, was terrific. He seemed disappointed that I didn't seem more happy, but my placid exterior hid the joy of a kid at Christmas. My wife and I immediately headed west into the Rockies from the service center. Had a mediocre dinner at the Chart House in Genesee but the
view was great.

When we arrived home, I immediately plugged the car into our charging station in the garage and -- RED LIGHTS, both on the charging port and the wall unit. The car said I had a bad cable. The flashing red lights on the wall unit appeared to be flashing at random (frustrating because the trouble shooting guide suggested specific numbers of flashes represented different problems). According to the lights, I had all the problems listed and more! Among the various suggested fixes in the trouble shooting guide, there were two I could do before calling the electrician. One was to press and hold the reset button. The unit reset with a clunk but when I plugged in the car, I got the same errors. The final user doable item was to unplug the car, flip the breaker off, then flip it on. I did this and, lo and behold, the charger was working perfectly. Whew! Oh, and I quickly installed the Evannex center console when I got home. Matches the tan/carbon fiber interior beautifully.

Anyway, we're going to head down to Colorado Springs (the back way) and have lunch today. Tomorrow I'm off on a business trip for a week (by plane) so I'll have to leave the new baby behind. I'm thinking of taking the wife's key with me so the car stays pristine. In fact, she has said she likes driving her Highlander hybrid and is still a bit scared to drive the S.

Probably reduced the size a bit too much from their original 43 MB sizes. First pic shows my wife (out of focus because, naturally, I'm focused on the car!) looking bored but beautiful in an outfit that matches the car's colors. Next shows me. I think I look excited (and old). Thanks for all the words of wisdom on this forum.

Congratulations Sandy! Sounds like you are having as much fun as I am with mine!

Great choice of color Sandy and Taldric! BTW gents, it is in times like this that we have to spend some quality time and proffer some attention to our significant others.... I had my wife behind the wheel within the first hour.... She was singing praises...

Many happy miles and smiles to you all...
