When we ordered they told us it was a very short backlog and that they could get the car by the end of the month if we confirmed our order on the 14th, which would lock in a lease rate that was ~ $110 less per month (which we ended up not taking).Wow 2 weeks from order to delivery? I wonder what this says about the order backlog. Are they prioritizing CA orders to meet quarterly goals or has the backlog pretty much dropped to 0?
I think that was an end of the quarter push. I ordered earlier this week and no such offer. When we ordered they told us it was a very short backlog and that they could get the car by the end of the month if we confirmed our order on the 14th, which would lock in a lease rate that was ~ $110 less per month (which we ended up not taking).
I'm assuming the orders have decreased in anticipation of next week's event?
For the lease option it certainly was a push for the quarter, they unabashedly admitted that if delivery was taken this quarter then you could get the lower price.I think that was an end of the quarter push. I ordered earlier this week and no such offer.
Brunton, congratulations! Finally heh?I FINALLY got it! Picked up yesterday at noon in Decatur. What an incredible machine! I let it drive me home, about 350 miles with a stop at the Greenville supercharger.
Here's a couple of pics. The first is at the Delivery Center; the second at the Greenville supercharger. Sorry these shots aren't as crip as most - I have a really cheap phone (but a really expensive - and worth every penny - car!).
I'm really dreading driving my pickup truck on trips in the future. Just a few hours with "PRU" and I'm dreading any vehicle with crash-into-anything cruise control that I have to manually steer down the highway.

Picked mine up yesterday from the San Diego SC. Mike and the team do an excellent job prepping the car and making the delivery experience something special. Got a nice swag bag or Tesla goodies as well. My daughter didn't make the test drive so got quite a shock when I hit the throttle. Tesla grin soon followed.

LOL! No, but a baseball cap was.(Was the hat part of the swag bag?)
Correction, I LIVE in Switzerland ;-)Lucky guys in the States... I ordered my 90D on Feb the 5th... and will be delivered June - July :-(
OK, the Atlantic is large, I leave in Switzerland...
Car delivered by truck this morning.....and was undrivable! 12 volt was dead. Driver didn't know what to do. I called Tesla, they said would have to be towed. They called local Tesla, and so did I. They brought me a loaner but couldn't get my brand new car to do anything. Tow driver had to jump 12V to get into tow mode to get on the truck. He called me when he got to the local service bay (not a full SC) and said there were no more error messages and he was able to unload the car without problems. I told him to leave it so they could replace battery and diagnose. The Tesla folks have all been nice, but REALLY?Email from DS yesterday, they want to home deliver March 26-31. Yes! (Spreadsheet updated.)
Thanks Boatguy, my pick up date is next Saturday(04/02). I am with you, last time I had leased a BMW for 15,000 miles but never used reached 45,000 miles by end of lease and I felt later that I paid in waste for those extra miles. So this time going for lower miles lease and will pay later for whatever I put extra. Two weeks from date of order or date of confirmation?
I've also ordered and am leasing. As far as I can tell it's only the $0.25 / mi charge so I'm going for the 10,000/yr and will pay later. Doesn't pass the break even on the per mile versus 12K/yr until about 34,000 miles total.

My car has been in production 2 weeks! I'd really like to know what some cars fly through and others take forever. Went into production 3/14. Ordered a nearly fully loaded 70D.
My Model S 70 went into production on March 24. Let see how long mine will take. I actually wanted mine to be delivered mod April to give me time, but looks like it might be done much sooner from what everyone is saying once the car is in production.
Don't know, I was just able to update it.cant edit the spread sheet, anyone know why?
