It's amazing how inconsistent Tesla notifies the buyer. My Tesla has shown in production for two weeks now. I've never received any email though after my confirmation. I've pinged my DS a couple of times and I just get "it's nearing completion" reply. I'm now wondering based on another thread post if it's the gray seats that's holding up my order. Frustrating reading those who've gotten theirs, though happy for them. I suppose one way I could look at it is maybe they'll take a bit more time and care putting the fit and finish together. Some of the posts I've read of people with various issues at delivery is mind boggling.

There are fairly constant reminders that it's a young, fast growing company. Hopefully your car will arrive with no issues, as I'm sure the vast majority do - happy customers just are not as loud as those who's expectations have been shattered.

But by the time I'd had a good night's sleep and managed to charge it the first time, I felt much, much better.

FYI for anyone with recent orders worried about the model year. I placed my order 12/7, confirmed 12/15, 2016 model year VIN issued 12/18, VIN replaced with 2017 model year 12/21.
Also, when I placed the order estimated delivery was late March, it's now late January/February so fingers crossed...

Confirmed my order with gray seats on 11/28. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. My car was in production for a little over a week.

8th day of production... Delivery Specialist response to my query of status:
"I am only able to see a broad view of where your Tesla is in production. I can see if it's in "early" "middle" or "late" stages of production, and as of now, your Tesla is in the "late" section.
The next update that I will receive will be that your Tesla is complete and ready to be scheduled. I am hoping to have that update any day now."
Last Sunday Dec 18th he already told me it was in late stage of production.
Holy cow @steveho !! One of the black ones is definitely mine! Picking up on Friday. Can't wait!! Still on for the photo shoot, btw!
I picked up my car today.
There were about 100 new cars, including 2 full trucks (you can see one truck in the pic, the other is just behind it)

Got a call from my DS today, my MS will be ready on Tuesday. Lets skip over Christmas this year. So excited, i cant wait.
Yes, definitely! Mine is going straight for clearbra though so I won't get it back until Tuesday.
Just picked mine up today! Delivery specialist basically said hi and handed me off to someone else, which seemed weird, but overall she's gorgeous. I also thought I would have cooled seats but it doesn't... Black next gen leather for me. Quite a few with the black paint and grey rims in the lot

Can you share the cost details with me. I've been offered from 990 to 2600 for Xpel + Opticoat. Why is it 399 for 4 door sedan to get 3M Crystalline but same job on Tesla 500?

The delivery specialist is gorgeous, oh, I guess you meant the car!
Xpel + ceramic pro quotes have been 3k from 2 different places. Xpel quote 1350-1950. 3M crystalline quote was 650. Suntex CXP quotes 285-399 from 3 places. Huper Optik 549-700.
