Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Just to clarify, the website doesn't tell me anything about a confirmed date, but my DS called as soon as the order was confirmed and setup up a tentative appointment for June 24.

I spoke to her today and she still seemed confident in the June 24 date. In order to hit that date, the car would have to go into production by sometime mid next-week (It's a SOCAL delivery which can be is about 6-9 day delivery from start of production).

Woohoo! My Tesla has updated status to "Your Tesla is currently in production". It's possible this thing might get delivered even before the 24th.

MS100D to North Carolina
  • Ordered 4/21 (with web site saying "late June- early July delivery")
Interesting - my MS100D to Ohio said "late June" on the web page on the day I ordered 5/27 - more than a month later! It said the same date through 6/3.

I don't have a production date yet but I do have a 6/30 delivery date. I think my Tesla finance rate depends on it. I'll be darned if I can figure out how this process works!

Why does your finance rate depend on a June delivery? Is it just because you already submitted your credit app? I have not filled mine out yet (at the advice of the same DS, I believe - also in Columbus). I don't see anything that says the 1.49% is only good for June.

Actually, I'm not finding it now. The loan does say "valid for 30 days" but that could be extended. Sorry, I may be wrong about this. :(

Interesting as they asked me to complete the credit app ASAP but that's when we were expecting a June delivery. Then again, I changed DS as well - not sure if my first guy quit or what but he never did respond to my E-Mail's, Then this new guy started calling me. So maybe I'm concerned about nothing here.

That makes sense. "valid for 30 days" is what I've been told too. The "Order Specialist" in the store wanted me to fill it out earlier so glad I waited and confirmed it with the DS.

If yours is being rushed to meet end of June, hopefully mine will tag along! haha

Got my HPWC installed today. Sleek! :D

Delivery is this Saturday!!!

(75D, red with tan, Lawrence in Toronto, ordered 4/30)
I got a call from my DS last night. He asked if I was busy on Friday (tomorrow) I said no. He asked then asked if I wanted to pick up my MS. Ummm yeah!!! I went from June 29 delivery to June 15 to now June 9. Ordered April 24, confirmed on the 28th. The wait is almost over, it's been a long painful journey but I'm so glad the day is near.

Loan rates are not established until you get an offer. The online examples are just that. When I was visiting, he indicated to me that they did have a current loan offer as low as 1.49% but that he understood that it would only be guaranteed if delivery was taken by end of June. That did not mean it would be higher later. The loan through Tesla partners was, as is typical, a 30 day offer.

I ordered on 5/22, Got loan approval 5/30 at 1.49% and plan on delivery before end June.

Ordered 5/13, confirmed 5/20, VIN 5/21, Production 6/5, birthed my new Tesla on 6/8 and now headed my way and the DS is assuming a 6/17 or 6/18 delivery date.... There's a weird feeling when you have been disappointed because it's taking longer than expected to then have them surprise you with an earlier date... OMG, now I need to take care of my trade-in/current car... sorry all, need to get busy :)

fwiw, we got approval for the 1.49% terms on 5/30, good for 30 days. i was concerned about this since our delivery could very well be past 30 days; however, our Tesla lending rep said that if it went past 30 days and it was a Tesla production delay, the bank would honor the 1.49% rate. however, if it was an owner pick up delay then the terms would refresh at whatever rate is current, which he said looks like it would be around 2.5% at the end of the month. huge difference obviously but sounds like as long as the owner is prompt in taking delivery when the car is ready the 1.49% rate would stand.
