Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I was given a delivery window of Jan 23 - Feb 3, Andrew in Chicago says my car is still in Cali. Sent Tesla $ by wire transfer on Jan 11th Sure hate paying for something up front and getting the run around.Vin #3574, 60Kw Blue-Gray-Pano-Tech

I am equally unhappy. I have the same delivery window with 3721. Yesterday I was told my car would be on a truck and in AZ on Friday or Saturday. Now it's delayed until Feb 6.

I finally got an update today after finalizing and giving payment last week, I have a Jan 19-Feb 2 window, car was done on 1/18 - but its also still in Fremont. They said there was a large backlog of cars going to Seattle and mine is still waiting to get on a truck. I hope it hasn't drained to zero battery in a lot somewhere (I don't want to see due bill: new battery, car sat at zero in factory parking lot for too long :) )

My car arrived at 5 am to Rockville service center 04007. My delivery window was 2/3-2/17. I can't wait to pick it up on Friday. Just got to hold on for 2 more days:crying:. I have a feeling that Dfibrl8r's car is here too so he may want to check today.
Jaq1, How did you find out your car arrived? I called UPS yesterday and they said the car vin 4983 60kwh would arrive in Rockville on the 31st. Then my DS called with the "good news" that my car was on the truck and would arrive Feb. 4th. WTF? I asked her to explain why UPS told me the car should be there on the 31st and she said her system was updated every day at midnight and that was her current information. On the up side, I received a password protected link to a Tesla orientation video which was nice to watch. Jaq1, if you go to Rockvilee, let me kiw if you see my Gray/tan 60 kwh shivering in the cold. I've got a nice warm spot in the garage ready for her.

Hey, my car is on that truck too - Got word from the DS today. I'm not taking delivery until Friday the 8th at the DC store, though. Green, grey, carbon, 85 P! wOOt!

i wonder if i'm on that truck too. When I called UPS, they said delivery tomorrow - but i haven't heard word 1 from my actual DS. I pinged him again this evening, but i've never had any communication from him at all.

I got the email today: "Your Model S VIN and Delivery"
The excitement level is starting to rise. Finally, it's really gonna come!

I'm curious about payment. I've read some people making down payments. Are they demanding payment of the balance before taking delivery?
Any ideas how many days after the email cars are ready? I'll be picking up in Menlo Park so it's probably a few days at most from Fremont.

Some states don't let Tesla sell cars so they have to get payment before shipping FOB. Some lenders need to see the amount of the loan as the balance on the MVPA so you have to pay Tesla the balance so that the MVPA will look correct to the lender. Both these are out of Tesla's control. If you don't have either of these, then the only payment you make, after the reservation deposit, is when you get the car.

P5656, Vin 4983 60kWh. Called UPS logistics for an update on delivery to Rockville, MD. I had been told twice by them delivery was estimated on Jan 31st. The local Tesla rep told me it would be Feb 4th. Today UPS says the truck is in Arkansas and scheduled to arrive in Rockville tomorrow. This process seems very strange. I wonder if these trucks are making detours as they cross the country to do side runs as needed for new jobs or something. Makes it very hard on the receiving end to try to anticipate and plan for delivery.

What number are you calling to get to UPS Logistics? I called the main number and after a few transfers was given this number:

1 (866) 435-2281

When I call it I get placed on hold for 5 minutes and then dumped into a voicemail box. Also what information do you provide them to track your car?

Thanks,
That's the number I've used. They want the last 6 of the vin which should be P0----. I think they have limited hours, I've only been able to get a person after 9am eastern time. I've called 3 times in the past week. First time asked for my name and vin then put me on hold, came back and said "Are you the Tesla Delivery Specialist" to which I said "yes" figuring if he was asking then he must not be able to confirm one way or the other (caller ID) and I was given the estimate. Second call few days later was told to call Tesla for any questions but still given the info. 3rd call today was given no information and told to call Tesla but persisted since I had previously been given a date by UPS that had come and gone. I was then given a new estimate and last known location of the truck. They have been polite enough but I get the sense they aren't happy about multiple calls. Maybe they should set up an automated web option! Maybe using the now released android app will let you find your car in transit! This would be a simple fix (too bad I have an iPhone).

Cross country transportation has varibility. UPS Logistics will be your best information. I was eventually given the carriers contact information and talked to the dispatcher. The driver should call you one or two days out if its a direct home delivery. If a DS will be facilitating the delivery the driver will call him or her.

Hang in there! It will all be so worth it once your car arrives.

no kidding. I wonder if that means that my date i got from UPS of today is no longer valid. :(

that said, i think i'd be ok with that, if my Tesla rep would just RESPOND to me. I've gotten zero communication from him, which is starting to get more than a little frustrating. Just an email with "we're still waiting for your car to show up in rockville" would be something. :)

I just got though and a very helpful lady told me that it was being picked up today and to call back on Monday for a better idea of the exact delivery time.

Delivery was one week ago. We had to sell the 1965 Mustang Convertible to make room for Nikki. We will never look back.

Got a very pleasant surprise.
My delivery window is 2/16 to 3/1.
I got a call yesterday assigning a vin# and said the car will be ready to pick up in 2 weeks. I was very excited that I was going to get the car by 2/14 (2 days before the start of the delivery window).

This morning I got more good news. I got a call saying the car is ready for pickup tomorrow!!!
Very happy and am completely caught off-guard. I haven't cleaned up the garage and don't have the NEMA 14-50 installed.
