Wow! This is the first post that I read of the jump seats being delivered on installation (except for Elon's, of course).
Can you share your opinions?

I know you were asking Kipernicus but saw them myself recently.

One of the Austin owners who had their car delivered earlier this month had them installed. They said their kids love it and actually prefer to sit back there and wave to people instead of sitting in the normal back seat.

Got my baby yesterday. VIN 3805 Res. 3352. 60Kwh. Grey. I am in love. My GF is jealous.

hmm - 3805 made it to MD, eh? I'm waiting on 3832... i had an email from my product specialist mid last week that it was waiting to get on a truck, and then she turned me over to my DS on friday saying it was "in transit". Since I didn't IMMEDIATELY hear back from him, I'm starting to have that "when is it going to get here" anxiety. After waiting years, the last week or so is REALLY tough. At least i can still laugh at myself :)

I know what you mean. I've been a reservation holder for 2 years 3 months and still do not have a firm delivery date. I'm not happy how long time reservation holders are being treated as second class customers simply because they preferred the 60kWh. I know someone who's been waiting for over 3.5 years and Tesla has been radio silent even though he's paid in full.

I'm Vin 3983, 60kWh, also in Virginia and was waiting to get loaded onto the truck last Thursday, today told car is on the truck and en route. So if truck left Thursday or Friday we should be looking at a mid-week arrival this week (assuming we're on the same truck). I have yet to hear from my DS also. Seems a little wrong that I can know the exact whereabouts of a $20 trinket shipped from Amazon but an 80 grand car is in this black box between Fremont and the East Coast!

I would be pissed too if I send a 100K check to Tesla and they responded with silence. Tesla should not ask for money unless they can guarantee the car will be shipped within 3 days of receiving the final payment. Seems to me Tesla just want to get paid after the car is build, but before the delivery logistics can be arranged.

For what it's worth, I was told by Tesla I could write a personal check at time of delivery of the car. I believe there may be some states where the laws regarding dealerships etc force Tesla to require a prepayment. In my case they have indicated no need to pay prior to arranging delivery.

I called UPS Logistics and gave them my VIN number. They gave me a good ETA.

Direct shipments are requiring payment sent befre it is loaded on a truck. It makes sense as the truck driver is not equipped to process payments. I sent a personal check to CA and the car was here in no time.

Oh the kids just love it! Even my older son who gets motion sickness. It is easy for the kids to unbuckle themselves, which is good or bad depending on your opinion.
The little one (4yo) can't see much out the back window because he's too short, but still likes it.

and this is where i have to scratch my head. I was told the same as dfibrilator in that I could just hand my check over to my delivery specialist at the time of delivery (which seems fine). However, I was ALSO told that since Tesla didn't have a dealer's license in VA yet, that it would be coming straight from the 18 wheeler for home delivery. I'm not sure how those two are reconciled, but I have been told my car is "in transit", and i haven't sent them any money yet. *shrug*

Call your contact at Tesla. I had to pay before they delivered. Most likely your car will make it to a distribution center and not get released by Tesla until they have your payment.

In general it works this way. If Tesla delivers the car to you, you can pay at the handoff. If a big 18 wheeler drops off the car you need to pay before they deliver.

I called UPS Logistics this morning and was told the truck was due to arrive on the 31st for my S 60kWh P#5656, Vin#3983.

Due bill items include paint armor, CF spoiler, Aluminum trim on UMC, condensation to rear tail light, parcel shelf, HPWC...

That's the weirdest due bill item yet. Aluminum trim on the UMC. I hope that's a one-off, rather than a supplier problem That's a pretty small and cheap part, which it would be easy enough to stockpile thousands of; it would really be quite extraordinary to have a supplier problem on something that simple and ordinary.

It's been pretty consistently missing in the latest deliveries over the past 2 weeks. I expected that mine would be missing as well. What I was not expecting, however was missing paint armor, which I want resolved ASAP before any stone damage occurs as a result of DRIVING MY NEW CAR!

Well that's depressing. I'm told mine will go through Chicago and then backtrack NW about 650 miles into worse weather and roads. I truly will be a March delivery with this metric. No VIN still.

I was told that I could perhaps get a "direct ship" if I wanted, but I said I wasn't in a hurry and would prefer to have my car stop at an East Coast service center first, and that I definitely wanted the delivery specialist to be there with the car. People have been seeing "direct ship" cars arrive out of alignment with low batteries and the wrong tire pressure, so there's some advantages of going through a service center first; they can also check for any other problems arising from the cross-country trip, and hopefully spot any missing parts (since there seem to be a surprising number of cars coming out of the factory with bits missing). Apparently I should also be able get the "defogger retrofit" done at the service center before delivery, which will save trouble later.

So look on the upside: if they do this *right*, your car will only have travelled 650 miles from being in showroom condition, rather than all the way from California.

As for me, I got a call from my "Inside Delivery Specialist" after bugging people, and everything looks good to go except I also still don't have a VIN. So now I'm itching to get that, because then I have a complicated dance of insurance paperwork which I would rather get off my mind, but I can't forget about until I've done it.

PS - Jump seats were installed, parcel shelf and UMC chrome trim on due bill. no license plate frame nor frunk net.

I have to ask. A lot of cars are arriving with "missing bits". Now, I understand some people are in a raging hurry to get their cars and would rather get them now and get the missing bits later. Did Tesla warn you that bits were missing before pickup and ask you if you wanted to wait, or did they just say "Here's your car, take it or leave it" ?

Since the license plate frame is legally required in NY, I'm not accepting delivery without it (for an example). My Inside Delivery Specialist made it sound as if there would be no problem waiting to deliver the car until all of this stuff was ready and installed at the Service Center.

Are the people who are getting cars with long due bills people who said "deliver it when it's ready", or people who asked to get their cars ASAP? If it's the latter, it's no problem, obviously; if it's the former, I'd worry.

When I got my UMC the Atlanta Service guy said my UMC was probably left out because it was missing the metallic faceplate. And I got a call after I received the cord from corporate wondering if my new cord had the faceplate. Both said it was a supplier problem.

My UMC does have the faceplate.
