No U.S. updates in two weeks. Curious.
Or the website issue that MitchL was referring to.Maybe Tesla got a little behind in sending out the reservation numbers. It's highly unlikely that sales could fluctuate that much.
Yeah, I guess "normal" isn't quite right; but relatively speaking...you are. Some of us have been waiting for this car for years and bought it based on pictures of an early prototype and some stats derived from simulations.
My point is just that you guys probably aren't as starved for information or as crazy about this stuff as those of us who frequent these forums. Thus, I think it will take your group longer to find this thread than the group of reservers before you.
And/or have been researching electric car technology for years. And/or have been doing background research on the Tesla corporation. Yeah, some of us are pretty far from normal.Yeah, I guess "normal" isn't quite right; but relatively speaking...you are. Yep, I actually think "normal" is the right word. I'm a person who needs to buy a car this year because my other car is nearing the end of its useful life. I think that's how most people make purchases. I had planned to put in an order at Mercedes/BMW/Audi in Feb/Mar for Jul/Aug delivery like I do every 5 years. This whole "put your order in and wait 15-16 months" doesn't fit the normal car buying pattern.
Yep, probably true. But I also wouldn't be surprised if orders are slowing down a bit also. Like I said, at 15 months out and number 9 thousand whatever in the queue I was barely interested, just enough to put a deposit just in case. If it had been 6 months out, I would have been much more motivated and interested/excited about this vehicle and I would have signed up for this forum that very night!
Have you considered hopping on the signature wait list?
When I signed up for my reservation a few weeks ago (thankfully I'm now six spots from the "back of the queue" :wink, the website indicated that reservations for the Signature Series were all sold out. It also says, "We will open a Signature Series wait list to all reservation holders by the end of January." I read this to mean that if you hold a current reservation for a non-sig, you can sign up to get on a list for the Sig in the event that people drop their reservation after production starts, but it doesn't guarantee you a Sig.
Am I looking at this correctly? What happens to your non-sig reservation if you get on the wait list?
