That sucks. By auto open/close do you mean it won't work with either the keyfob or the 17" screen?

None of the above - It also doesn't work when the you push the liftgate open button next to the licence plate area or the "close" button when it is opened. Not a huge issue since it does unlock and can be manually opened. I had the lates software loaded on Saturday morning, but I doubt that is it or there would be a lot of chatter on here.

I also had a minor issue that the delivery speciallist took down, my side mirrors do not tilt when going into reverse - regardless of settings. Not sure if the issues have any relationship to each other....

Hope they fix it soon. I like the power lift gate. I didn't realize that the sideview mirrors don't tilt town until you put the car in reverse and tilt both mirrors down and hit 'save' on your profile (and have the auto-tilt turned on in settings too). If you've done all that then does sound like it is broken as well.

Did you set a the desired position of the mirrors while the car is on and in reverse? You need to set this before they will tilt.

No I didn't know this - and neither did the delivery specialist. One more case of this forum being the font of all knowledge!

Question: When something like this happens under warranty, do you have to pay for the Ranger visit, or is that included? I seem to recall that Ranger visits for the annual inspections are extra, but wasn't sure about stuff like this. I'm less than 5 miles from the Toronto Service Center, so it is less of an issue for me, but a Ranger visit at my office (if necessary) would be nice.

It's $100 per visit, warrany or not.

This is actually a big improvement for me. Last year my annual service cost more than double due to the ranger fees. Yes they didn't charge ranger fees for a couple of warranty visits, but I would still have been WAY ahead with the $100 per visit policy.

My Model S sometimes makes an odd low-pitch groaning noise when the A/C is on, beginning about 30 seconds after I start driving the car. Turning the A/C off and back on seems to fix it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, does anyone else finding it annoying that the tappable hot-spot to show the A/C controls is not also tappable to close the panel again? It would be nice if that hot area were a show/hide toggle.

Why does it need to be "saved"? It could just restore the previous position when switching between forward/backwards (or between drivers). I mean, usually you just set the position and it stays in that position.

It will work until you change driver profiles. The save will store it into the driver profile so that it isn't lost when switching.

Just an update on my Tailgate issue. Ranger resolved the issue by disconnecting the 12V battery and letting the entire system do a "hard boot". It really is a computer on wheels. There was no cost for the ranger service since it was within 30 days of the delivery period. The service was great - I will definately sign up for the service plan that includes the ranger service, even though I have a service center 25 miles from where I live...

Well, my car is unable to charge via a 110 outlet, I've now tried it across 4 different outlets with no luck. I now have to go to the service center to charge it so I can make my upcoming 80 mile drive home. Very frustrating and it does leave me a bit worried that the car could leave me stranded at some point.

Could be the connector (UMC) rather the car. I'd find a J1772 to try if that's close enough.
