Model X February 2017 Deliveries

Firstly, don't pay much attention to the delivery estimate dates, while they're getting better, they still seem all over the place.

Secondly, Tesla does batch vehicles together based on specs and paint color. Perhaps you missed the earlier batch for your specs/color and got pushed to the next batch a few weeks later.

In the long run, a few weeks isn't going to be a huge deal.

Agreed. It is not a huge deal. In reality, I have some small hope that the longer mine takes, that increases the likelihood of having the new batteries. My curiosity is more academic than anything (I mean, we need something to think about while waiting, right?).

But seriously, thanks for the info. Your post makes a lot of sense. Cheers.

That's exactly how I felt. I was getting a June delivery and was desperately hoping that it would be pushed back as much as possible. Partly to avoid end-of-quarter rush and partly hoping for new hardware, specifically AP2 and bigger battery. I didn't get either, but I can't complain about the fit & finish of my vehicle. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close.

For those of you getting specific dates, where are you getting that information from? Even the general late march/early april timeframe - where is that showing up? I've received ZERO emails about the vehicle. I don't really know when its getting built, when the drop dead date to make any configuration changes is, or when its coming. I do NOT have a delivery specialist assigned - and my only option has been to communicate with a salesmen who is probably about an 8 hour drive.

"My Tesla" simply states, "Your Tesla order has been confirmed and scheduled for production in our factory."

On the "My Tesla" screen almost right across from where it says "Your Tesla order has been confirmed and scheduled for production in our factory" on the left, it shows an "Estimated Delivery Range" on the right.

Talked to your Owner Advisor, Delivery Specialist, or just call the Fremont factory. I think if you're not special requested for certain time frame, then they will go with their own factory schedule. You need to let them know when you you pick up window, this is what we pay for customized order. If you have the message "Your Tesla is currently in Production", then I would say it will take about 2 weeks to be completed, then it also take sometime to delivery to your destination.

Here is what mine looks like:

Your Vehicle Details
  • Model: Model X P100D View Specs
  • Vin: 5YJXCBE46HF039XXX
  • Estimated Delivery Range: March - Early April
My DS has said March 23 specifically, but I am not holding my breath.

Today mytesla just got updated with an estimated delivery range:
  • Estimated Delivery Range: February 21, 2017 - March 7, 2017
After emailed my DS yesterday, he told me that our model x has completed production and should be delivered in 2 weeks although mytesla still says "currently in production". Now the delivery range just got updated to
  • Estimated Delivery Range: February 14, 2017 - February 28, 2017

This assumes your order has a Delivery Specialist... which Tesla should correct for you, by the way.
Have your DS send you Pro-Forma Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement. MVPA for short. Just ask for one, and it shows up in your email box in a couple days. It's the same Invoice that the Lenders ask for, to prepare paperwork on their side. Essentially a cost summary of the vehicle being purchased.

Before everyone goes pinging their DS...
Here's a question for the more experienced Tesla Nation ---
Is the MVPA just as easy for everyone else to obtain from their DS, as it was from mine? So far I have received two, about a month apart.

And is the line stating: "VEHICLE TO BE DELIVERED ON OR ABOUT:" date specified, a floating fruit in jello date, or a to be planned upon date?

In any case, what I did get out of my inquiries were actual calendar dates -- instead of the 'maybe now or later' date from the Tesla website.
Your mileage here may vary.

When did you place your order? Do you know what the time frame from order to delivery?

As soon as your order is placed, an Order Agreement appears in your MyTesla account, in the documents section. This is your MVPA and it will change as /if your order changes prior to actual production. There shouldn't be a need to ping anyone for it, it's always there.

As for the estimated delivery date, it's only an estimate and will/can change up until the day you pick up your car. Directionally it's correct, and it gets tighter as it moves through the process but not something to schedule around until the car is received by the local SvC and you actually schedule pick up date.

Enjoy the ride!

Delivery date is set for 2/15. Thank God (and my DS) that I don't have to post anything in that March delivery thread.

Except that mine has NOT updated, while the 'View Specs' link does show the right into. Of course, I haven't entered production yet, but the rest of my page changed to reflect my change in config two days ago.

I did talk to my DS the other day and he bugged some people and I got my revised agreement uploaded and emailed shortly thereafter.

I am also now in production. So there's a chance it might be delivered in Feb. So now I'm in like 3 threads talking about this :p
