So, at what point in this process do people think the hidden vins get allocated? I know its guess work, but good to know.

There was a rumour (someone told on the phone by Tesla) that the last VINs for the Ace were being allocated yesterday. Looks liek it has been correct.
Difficult to know the pattern as it has now been
1. As the ship is loading
2. in transit and
3. some on delivery (first batch)
My guess is as the ship is loading and some reallocations (order changes/cancels) in transit/after delivery.

I would not worry about the VIN. I've never had a VIN, but was offered delivery at the end of June (Couldn't accept as the bank messed up the loan application).
That sort of makes sense. If you look at at order spreadsheet there are a lot of blue orders with no VIN, and if you are building on a production line you want to build a whole load of the same colour so that you don't have to keep changing the paint in the spray booths

Notice how to S or X in there get protection, but by looks of it, not the 3's.
Width difference might explain it, probably more difficult to pack into container
2070mm (X) - 1850mm (3) = 220mm
1964mm (S) - 1850mm (3) = 114mm
They don't go in containers, they just get lined up like in a big car park and strapped in.
I wondered what when I saw the latest photo as historically that's correct. Maybe they're shipping them complete now to avoid two different logistics routes?

No - I ordered a P-, so no price reduction for me (though I did try and blag one).
ive got a P- on order too.... yet the P+ is now cheaper than the P- was when i ordered it. the office say the price will be updated on the final invoice once the ship lands. so fingers crossed mine's on the triumph

P+ only cheaper if you were getting white paint. Otherwise it's still a £500 up-charge (which is, admittedly, a bargain if you wanted those options!)
There are 12 white orders in this forum (according to the spreadsheet) 4 of which have VINs
I know of maybe (myself included) 4 people that actually 'changed' from black to white.
Any new white orders are at the back of the queue.
Granted there are maybe a lot more that we don't know about, but somehow I doubt that of the 6000 orders (prior to white becoming free) vast majority check the price over and over and flip configurations by calling Tesla direct or using the link trick.
I'm a white orderer and have had 2 phonecalls with Tesla in the last two days. Both times I've asked for an ETA and has a consistent answer of early September. I ordered very late (last week) and have an invoice in the 7300s.
