Let me know how that supercharging issue goes, that is my biggest fear with the CPO I ordered. The CPO SA said it will be, but it wasn't listed in my build. One would think that would be easy for them to check, but I don't know.

Congrats on the speedy delivery!

In my case when looking at the cars on the CPO advisor's computer it said Supercharging Enabled and once I made the deposit it showed as Free Supercharging in the Views Specs link inside the my tesla page. Anyway confusing sometimes.

In any case when I returned to the SC last night after the delivery to check that the DS told me that probably the original owner did not have the option enabled but they will honour it for me since it was in the Purchase Agreement. He then told me to come back Today since all the technicians were already gone.

This morning I got a call from the SC and they say I will need to drop the car to check that up and they will give me a loaner but since I'm not planning to supercharge this weekend I will get an appointment for next week.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me at all but just surprised that they overlooked the issue when doing the certification, is one of the most important functions of the car.

More news next week I guess

Here is where I am:
6/28 9:29pm - EV-CPO Alert
6/28 10:00pm - Completed the deposit and received the automated Thank You e-mail
6/30 - Received an e-mail from Christian the New England adviser asking for me to call his cell phone
6/30 - After a few rounds of phone tag, I spoke to the adviser and let him know I did not want to have to pay the $2k transport fee to NY. He researched my car and it was in Tempe, AZ, no location was available on the CPO listing when I had bought it. I asked him to research other locations for delivery without a transport fee with my preference being Denver.
7/1 - Traded text messages, but delivery location still not confirmed
7/5 - Confirmed I can pick up in Denver. This is a great for me because I can get a direct flight and have friends to crash with.
7/6 - E-mail intro to delivery specialist. General 6-8 week time frame is provided, but they will know more after the 200-point inspection.
7/11 - Inquired on the move to Denver, no update available.
7/18 - Inquired on the move to Denver, no update available. The move is now marked as "high priority".
7/27 - Send an e-mail in to the DS. The car has been moved to Denver and has been inspected. They are planning to replace the drive unit.
7/28 - Received an e-mail that they are targeting week of 8/14 for delivery! Great news, looking forward to the Model 3 webcast tonight.

7/20 Met SA in Buena Park CA to validate search and place a deposit. Deposit made and "Congratulations email" received
- This car is already at the Buena Park service center so I am hoping this will expedite my process
7/24 Asked SA to keep me in to loop and asked if I could purchase any add on's as part of the transaction
- SA responded same day and said he would keep me in the loop, but did not answer question regarding accessories etc.
7/25 I requested photos and SA quickly responded with the photos of the cosmetic issues with the car
7/27 Just waiting
7/28 "Quick update for you – your Model S has been submitted to quality inspection with our service managers. It looks very likely that we will be able to schedule your Model S in the next 7-10 days. "

So I received some great news today that my CPO will apparently not take the full 4-6 weeks and should be ready for delivery next week! I have not even had time to sell my GL450 (anyone need one?).

I am not trying to make anyone jealous, but thought it would be nice to add another positive post to this thread.

At Burbank taking delivery now!

Notes:
- was told they could NOT provide the inspection report and the guy who gave it to me when I bought my first one could have gotten fired. Whatever.
- car was in great shape! They are polishing one small blob of touch up paint. The interior trim was scratched, which was considered normal wear, so we are going to pay to replace those pieces.
- THE LUDICROUS UPGRADE IS ONLY $5000. Apparently that IS tied to the VIN not the owner. So.....that will be it's first service appointment. :)

7/1 : Deposit placed for S85
7/1 : Received automated "Let's complete your order" email
7/1 : Received automated "Thank you for your order" email with PDFs attached
7/1 : Received email from sales adviser. Email indicated they would call the next day (Sunday) and that I should hold of on financing
7/1 : Responded to sales adviser indicating I looked forward to the call the next day and that the PDF sent via automated email had the incorrect price listed.
7/2 : Sales adviser called. Discussed the following: 4-6 weeks for delivery of car is expected, ask was prior to Aug 10th (5.5 weeks); Discussed incorrect price listed in PDF, Sales adviser will enter a request in the system to resolve discrepancy; Process: 200+ point inspection, Week 1/2: nothing will occur, Week 3/4: Inspection completed along with any service items, Week 5/6: Cosmetic issues address, End of Week 6: Delivery; Completion of items on Tesla website; Q&A Session
7/2 : Received email from sales adviser. Email replicated much of the phone conversation. Email documented the ask for delivery prior to Aug 10th. "Tesla Post Order Packet PDF" attached
7/7 : Sent an email to Sales adviser - Asked if the Inspection Report can be sent when complete; Asked if pictures of car could be sent; Asked if the car has 3G or LTE; Other misc questions
7/7 : Received automated email that SA is OOO until 7/11
7/11 : Sent an email to SA with an additional question - how long the delivery would take?
7/11 : Received emails from SA - Inspection report will be provided at delivery as it will not be completed until then; Will inquire with SC to take pictures but after the car is back from vendors (it's already at a vendor?!?!); 3G not LTE (can install LTE prior to delivery for ~$500)
7/14 : Sent an email to SA - Provided a response on 3G vs LTE; Inquired on the status of the car, price adjustment and pictures
7/18: Tried calling SA.
7/19: Called SA. Price discrepancy resolved. Car has not started the inspection process so the process is already behind schedule. Sounds like there will be increased capacity for processing CPOs starting this week so the hopefully it moves forward soon (with high quality). We plan to discuss the current status on 7/25.
7/25: SA had indicated that if I had not heard from them by noon on the 25th to reach out to them. I got a hold of SA in the afternoon as I had not heard from them at noon and there was a long pause after asking about the current status. Instant feeling of being let down. After the pause (looking up information) the SA indicated that they needed to discuss the status with their manager which I was perplexed by. I interpreted this to mean that the car still had not moved an inch in three and half weeks. SA indicated that they would give me a call back once the discussion was over. I had not heard back at ~5:45PM so gave SA a call on drive home from work. SA confirmed that the car had not processed at all. Reason for this is the large number of CPOs being processed (that were purchased the first two weeks in June and are still being processed?) and an underestimation of how long they would take to process. It sounds like all of the cars are actually being transferred to a new facility and that they are bringing on new techs to handle the increased workload. I'm torn on if this is a good thing or not, not sure if all of the issues will be found and correctly addressed prior to delivery. It also sounds like the regional service manager is in town to help accelerate the process (and probably other things). SA indicated that a delivery within 6 weeks is likely not going to happen and that 7 weeks is more realistic at this point. I was honestly thinking that this is probably an optimistic statement but then the SA then followed up with comments that delivery by the 9th may in fact still be possible though we would not know until the last minute. What a roller coaster. SA recommended that we reconnect on August 2nd which seems like forever away.
7/27: Sent text in the morning to SA to check on status of car and follow up on prior discussions around combining accounts (accidentally formatted my email address differently when I placed deposit versus what I used for model 3 reservations.) Got a follow up call in the afternoon indicating the car has not started, however, the techs will be working overtime this weekend and she has requested that they start looking at the car this weekend. (SA can not help with combining accounts, I sent corporate an email to see what can be done.) It looks like the car needs to already be in mint condition if I am going to get it by the end of 6 weeks.
7/28: Recalled that I had noticed that the listing of items below tech package were missing from the MyTesla information. Sent a message to SA in the morning to see if they could provide that information. SA call back this evening indicating they did not have a good way to look up this information and that the information in this list can be wrong (sounds like it is common for listing to say folding mirrors and for the car to not have them). The original sticker does show the car having parking sensors. No update on the status of the car in the process. SA will be checking on the car tomorrow.

6/14 - Placed deposit and given the 4-6 week estimate. Brent told me to contact him directly if I don't hear anything after a week
6/14 - Brent connected me with local Columbus DS Scott with a summary of my order
6/18 - Received email from [email protected] stating that my car was In Transit with links to confirm my payment. Forwarded to DS asking if there is anything else I need to do (showing 5/5 on my tesla status for the car).
6/19 - DS got back to me to confirm my payment method. Confirmed the car had arrived at the Indianapolis service center and was being worked on today
6/21 - Received another email from delivery@tesla that said 'We noticed that you still have yet to enter your payment method...'. Forwarded to DS and asked if I needed to do anything.
6/23 - DS wrote back and said everything looks in order for payment. Updated status to say that the car is waiting on a drive motor from Fremont that they decided to replace due to noise. After it is replaced they will ship the car to Columbus.
6/29 - Received an email from Tesla stating that my Final Price Sheet is available and now I have the option to fully pay for the car on the website. Forwarded it to DS in Columbus to see if this meant there was a status update on the car. He did not respond (suspect they are busy with end of quarter squeeze...)
7/7 - DS contacted me to say that the car had completed the CPO inspection process and was ready to be shipped to Columbus from Indianapolis. He said this can take up to a week.
7/24 - Big update today! DS is back from PTO and called me to schedule delivery and sent me pictures! Car still needs to be detailed but it is in Columbus. I'm on vacation with the family in the deep woods of NW Michigan, scheduled delivery for this Friday 7/28, aka Model 3 reveal day. We are driving home that day so 8 hours in the car, quick shower to get the camp fire smell off me, then uber to the service center for a 5pm delivery.
7/28 - Delivered!

The delivery went great. Right away the DS pointed out a botched touch-up job on the rear hatch that the inspection service center marked passed but my local center didn't agree; they will fix this at my convenience at the local body shop whenever I want to schedule it, they will provide a Tesla loaner and handle shuttling the car to/from the body shop for me. It has some rock chips here and there as well but everything looks within spec and for a car with almost 70k miles it looks stunning. 235 miles of range on the display @90% charge (85kWh). Confirmed the drive motor was replaced during inspection (brand new according to the tech). I paid for the car minus the deposit through the My Tesla website with savings account direct debit after inspecting the car which worked great; no need to go get a bank check super convenient.

I'm still nervous driving the car around because it still doesn't feel like the car is actually mine :) Drives great, no obvious rattles / odd noises, silky smooth (feels new). It isn't the performance model but floored it a few times on the way home and wow wow wow. On the highway accelerated 60-80 in a blink. Plenty fast for me, can't imagine launching in a P100D.

Maybe this is a given but I haven't seen it mentioned: I didn't feel like I was treated differently as a customer because I was buying a heavily used car instead of a brand new S or X. Not pushy, no pressure, and I had a 5pm delivery appointment on a Friday and they close at 6 (drove away around 6:30). I met the service manager and a couple of techs in addition to meeting my DS for the first time in person. Everyone seemed great and really happy for me and excited about the car I was buying. Overall I suspect the same presentation / delivery setup was done for me as they would do for someone buying a new S or X. Yes I know that is part of their job but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Summary of the overall buying process: buying a used car sight-unseen for a (large) amount of money is not for the faint of heart. The wait is real, and during that wait you will obsess over the leap of faith decision you made when reserving the car. There were at least two separate weeks where absolutely nothing happened and communication channels were quiet. Emotionally I went from over the moon after ordering the car ("Welcome to Tesla!" OMG I did it!) to obsessive anxiety and mild buyer's remorse and then back up to a more even and moderated joy after delivery. I'm really happy with the car but not out of my mind gushing like I kind of was after placing the order and I suspect this is a result of burning through some portion of the honeymoon period obsessing over every detail for six weeks waiting for delivery. If Tesla could improve on anything I'd say the simplest thing would be to respond to email / phone calls more quickly even if there is no update to provide. Advice I'd give to someone in this process currently: try your best not to obsess over things and trust the car will be great. This forum provided a sounding board for me and others during the process which I very much appreciate (thank you all!). However mentally I think the wait would have been more pleasant if I found a way to just ignore everything about the car. I know this is a tall order (I failed miserably) but I do think it is your best bet. In the end I got an absolutely amazing car at a great price and I feel very confident if something does go wrong they will do their best to take care of me.

Pictures!

7/3 ordered CPO P85
7/5 got email ,said 6-8 weeks.
Started on my things to do on MyTesla page.
Got 4/4 items done.
Now MyTesla page is asking for payment.
Doing insurance quotes now. State Farm, whom I been with for almost 40 years wanted $1500/year.
Looking at Geico and Progressive.
7/13 - update
Received update today, car is in Houston getting refreshed. DS said he will let me know next week on timeline. I went with Progressive insurance as they were the cheapest. I also liked the way they treated my daughter when she totaled her Pruis. They gave her a check four days later. Great service.
Getting terrible excited!
7/14-update
I asked Brent if I can get some pictures of my car in Houston. He sent me five pictures and a blank copy of the CPO inspection form. It's quite a list of things they check. Hopefully not too many things will be needed to be addressed so I can get my car in a few weeks.
7/28 update- contacted DS , I stated to him since car has been in Houston service center they should know what's needed and a "ballpark" date for delivery. He responds back with they are way ahead of the 6-8 week timeline and are now looking at early August.
7/29 update
Brent just called me, my car is ready! Has to be shipped from Houston to Dallas for pickup. Might be as early as next Saturday! He mentioned they replaced the drivetrain due to noise on original unit. Now I just need a firm date so I can fly to Dallas and pick it up. 27 days from ordering to completing refurb.

i know there's a few more people from Northern California following this thread, how are you all doing with your status?
I'm 5+ weeks and my car has apparently fallen into a black hole...no real updates, no estimated date, nothing. Someone made a note on another post than any cars going through the factory right now for reconditioning are severely delayed. Saying that, the original estimate was 8 weeks, but it would nice to know some detail on how things are progressing along.

7/29 - Placed a deposit on a P85. Noticed on the CPO pages, they no longer seemed to be listing the Smart Air Suspension or the Upgraded Sound systems but looked at the Source page and found the listed option codes and then used the Model S option decoder to confirm a few things. I have reasonable expectiations of timeline and delivery issues thanks to this thread and the website and I have to thank @HankLlyodRight for the his website. Will keep updates coming but am assuming they will be few and far between based on others experiences.

Very well said. I'm 6 1/2 weeks into my wait and it does not even seem real anymore.

It's in New York (probably why I didn't jump on it; don't want to pay the additional transportation fee if I can help it)

Since it's a 2012 with no pano roof; can it still get XM since it has the Sound Studio package?

According to the Tempe Service center "YES" they can and do have XM capability but there were early complaints about reception quality therefore the Pano Roof was first recommended then later required.

6/23 Ordered 2014 Model S
7/14 Brent called and told me it would be another 6-8 weeks for a new battery pack

I kinda wish I got a call like yours from Brent :D although a new battery is kinda cool

I'm in Dallas too, was really hoping for a quick turnaround.
