But why would only the 75Ds get the High Amp upgrade and not the 75s and remaining 90Ds?
I might've missed it, but where did you get that info? The posts above mention they are getting CH05. CH05 = 48 amp charger. CH04 = 72 amp charger

When I look at cars added to TeslaInventory.com over the past month, the 75s with a 72 amp charger only represent less than 7% of the cars getting a 72 amp charger in the US. There are actually more 75 than 75D with the 72 amp charger. The 90Ds represent over 62% of those getting the 72 amp charger. The other 31% are 100s.

When looking at 48 amp chargers, 75 and 75D represent over 60% of cars.

Great research, thanks for that!

My VIN for the 75d I ordered two weeks ago starts with 206 and has both du00 and ch04 in the URL. This means I will get the newest version?

I am wondering the same. I also have DU00 and CH04. But it was a S75D ordered late in may, with production first part of june. The VIN starts with 203. What about my car?

Hi MorrisonHiker: both quoted members above stated they are receiving CH04s on their 75Ds. My 75 & sauce's 90D are getting CH05s.

That's odd. Mine went into production today:
S75
DU01
CH04

I wonder if CH04 vs CH05 is a UK/Europe/US thing?
I'm in the UK. Where are you?

I'm in the US & car is still pending production. Your car isn't a 75D? In regards to updated specs - reading through all the threads/posts, it looks like there isn't any consistency in date production, delivery, vin number range, location, etc. It appears that some got lucky and others didn't.

No. RWD 75

My S 75D VIN 2055XX
Order Date 6/8 - Yet to enter production

DU00
CH05

Mine is similar to yours and I'm picking up the car on Monday.
S 75D
VIN 204XXX
CH05
DU00
DV4W

The current S 75D loaner I'm driving:
Production date: 05/17
VIN: 197XXX

I'm curious if there is an offical/unoffical breakdown of these code meanings. From this thread, looks like if you have the DU00, you are in the clear with the new DU.

Waiting on a response from DS. I'll update with anything uncovered.

Any word on whether improvements address the DU breakdown rate?

Is it known by now what the DU breakdowns / whining noise / replacements have as the root cause?

Am I missing something or is it odd nobody here seems interested to see that improve?

So I did a few comparisons using the Model S Design Studio vs my S 75D.

Using the DS, I added the same options that will be in my Model S (75D, sunroof, enhanced ap, premium upgrades package, premium sound).

I grabbed the image url from one of the thumbnails: https://www.tesla.com/configurator/...,INPTB,QTTP,APPB,APF1,AU01,RFP2,X013&size=476 and parsed out the options into an array.

let modelDesignStudio75d = ["AF02", "APF1", "APH2", "APPB", "AU01", "BCMB", "BP00", "BR00", "BS00", "BTX5", "CDM0", "CH05", "COL1-PBSB", "CW00", "DCF0", "DRLH", "DSH5", "DU00", "DV4W", "FG02", "FMP6", "FR04", "HC00", "HP00", "IDBA", "INPTB", "IX01", "LLP1", "LP01", "ME02", "MI01", "PF00", "PI01", "PK00", "PS01", "PX00", "QTTP", "RFP2", "SC04", "SP00", "SR01", "SU00", "TM00", "TP03", "TR00", "UTPB", "WTAS", "X001", "X003", "X007", "X011", "X013", "X021", "X025", "X027", "X028", "X031", "X037", "X040", "X044", "YFCC"];

I grabbed the "View Spec" url in MyTesla account and parsed out the options into an array.
let myModelS = ["AF02", "APF1", "APH2", "APPB", "AU01", "BCMB", "BP00", "BR00", "BS00", "BTX5", "CDM0", "CH05", "CW00", "DCF0", "DRLH", "DSH7", "DU00", "DV4W", "FG02", "FMP6", "FR04", "HC00", "HP00", "IDBA", "INPTB", "IX01", "LP01", "MDLS", "ME02", "MI01", "PBSB", "PF00", "PI01", "PK00", "PS01", "PX00", "QTTP", "RENA", "RFP2", "SC05", "SP00", "SR01", "SU00", "TM00", "TP03", "TR00", "UTPB", "WTAS", "X001", "X003", "X007", "X011", "X013", "X021", "X025", "X027", "X028", "X031", "X037", "X040", "X044", "YFFC"];

I ran a difference and intersection on these arrays and dropped them into this spreadsheet and noticed they both do have the DU00 and DV4W: myModelS vs modelDesignStudio

Does this mean that my S 75D has the new drive unit? I'm thinking so, but I don't really have any official proof. Thoughts? Also, any idea what the options are in the yellow portion of the spreadsheet? I am seeing that SC04 is in the DS Model S.

Taking a quick look at the inventory data, here are the counts of each type of model, trim, and VIN prefix with DU01:

Model S, DU01, S75:
201xx 8
202xx 15
203xx 9
204xx 11
205xx 1
206xx 1

Model S, DU01, P100D:
200xx 5
202xx 1
203xx 4
204xx 11
205xx 1

Model X, DU01, P100D:
052xx 17
053xx 10
055xx 1

Next up is the same for DU00.
