It's not covered under the TSB, for some reason, - the LR. Perhaps Tesla will issue a separate one for it at some point...My july 2021 delivered Long Range has vibration for sure.
Lame, like most things Tesla issue resolution related for the Model S/X "Flagships"....It's not covered under the TSB, for some reason, - the LR. Perhaps Tesla will issue a separate one for it at some point...
That vibration (from the compressor) has occurred all the way back to pre-refresh Model S/X. Upon startup on warmer days the compressor can be felt in the steering wheel and footwell on both my 2015 P85DL and 2019 Raven. That vibration doesn’t occur on the ‘21. Only ‘22 and ‘23.
The only thing that runs at a different speed around startup vs. the rest of the drive at the same 25-40mph speeds is the compressor (or at least it is the only thing with enough mass and vibration to be felt within the cabin. aside from driveshafts that is).Of the current refresh models, for some reason the '21 refresh is the only year that doesn't have the startup vibration that lasts only a few mins around 25-40mph (ish). Both the '22 and '23 have this. Probably '24 when it arrives in the coming weeks, unless they come with the TSB already applied...
It vibrates even below freezing. It's temperature independent, and as mentioned - doesn't occur on the 2021 refresh. And this vibration is not the one in the title of this thread. It vibrates even below freezing. It's temperature independent, and as mentioned - doesn't occur on the 2021 refresh. Only 2022-2024+ refresh.
JWhen on FSD/s, the "40's" vibration is still noticeable even when your foot is off the go pedal.
Although I'm too busy wondering what the hell is Dojo thinking to pay much attention.
Buyback? By Tesla? Care to share the depreciation after one year?Just accepted my buyback offer. More than fair for a year of use. Hopefully we see another revision in a couple years. I want another Model S in the future. There’s nothing like it
No depreciation. The buyback offer will have been full price plus accessory cost and registration fees.Buyback? By Tesla? Care to share the depreciation after one year?
I leased. Basically they charged me for miles used. Everything else will be refunded.Buyback? By Tesla? Care to share the depreciation after one year?
I don't want a lease. I want to own a new Plaid. But the uncertainty of getting one that vibrates badly is a problem.I leased. Basically they charged me for miles used. Everything else will be refunded.
Well, mine vibrates. Not quite as bad, but still there. So, yeah. Don't order one.I don't want a lease. I want to own a new Plaid. But the uncertainty of getting one that vibrates badly is a problem.
It's not *that* different than how high power ICE cars act on a cold start with the secondary air injection, fuel enrichment etc... I could live with it if that's just what it means to have 1k hp, carbon sleeved rotors, etc. but I wish Tesla would just straight up say whether or not it's a means of heating up the motors faster or something. Especially since the 2021 cars apparently don't do it.Start up vibration remains the same and is crummy on such an expensive vehicle.
