Do you remember the color of the 56xxx one? Blue hopefully? My car is supposedly at the Scottsdale SC right now (I take delivery tomorrow or Friday) and these new features have me even more excited about my car than I already was.

I do remember it was dark in color, either blue or black, and was dusty from the transport. I'm so sorry I didn't linger and take better notes. Must be agonizing!

That's okay, I appreciate what you've done. I just got off the phone with my DS and she didn't know one way or the other, but she did say they were detailing my car today. Delivery got moved up to tomorrow at 1pm. I'll definitely let you all know whether or not my car has these features then.

Well I just took delivery of my P85+ at the Costa Mesa facility today. I talked to the manager about the new camera and bumper sensor and he said as far as he knows those are strictly on prototype vehicles at this time. There were literally 25+ vehicles piled up for delivery (a very busy end of quarter) and none of them had the updated camera or sensor. Nor did the specialist say they have come across any.

While I was a little bummed over not having the feature my drive home quickly helped me forget. Here is a quick shot of it in front of the window tinters.

Is correcting spelling really necessary? Could have simply sent a PM.

Yes, it was necessary. :)

Two such new deliveries were spotted in Scottsdale today with all of the new sensors. I don't think Tesla would be shipping prototype vehicles to new owners in Arizona.

My guess is that if your car hasn't yet started production, yours will almost certainly have it. If you're already in production or delivery, it's a crapshoot. (Edit: Apparently, according to Miriam-Webster, "crapshoot" is one word, not two. Learn something every day.)

Your car looks so good. I am so angry at myself for getting new grey with silver 21" wheels. DS said too late for me. Comes in on Friday.

Also, are you at costa mesa? I feel like my DS Eric was sending me photos of your car. Doesn't seem like a lot of grey on grey but maybe they are. I posted the photos on this thread: Tesla steel grey colour with grey 21`wheels - Page 2

Erandall38- congrats! Looks awesome, I've got the exact same coming next month :) and your pics make the wait even more exciting

To be fair the silver ones still do look great. Glad the photos help. Some of the first new grey cars in the wild with 21" wheels. Friday can't come soon enough for me. If you want more photos from when I get the pick up, just PM and I can take as many as you need. I have the silver wheels, not sure if you have silver or grey. I have thought about powder coating, we will see how the silver look first.

I called my DS pissed that I just picked up my car without these features, features I gave up going to this Tesla and features I now want and could have had by waiting a couple more weeks had I been notified of this change.

The whole electric thing is wearing off to me and now I'm missing all the luxuries my Mercedes had.

My DS said no cars are coming like this and that these cars we are seeing online are probably photoshopped and people playing tricks and said "you can't believe everything you read online"

if you wait a few years, think of all the other features you would get!

Awe... That's terrible. It's a good thing you are leasing the car, then, and don't really own it.

Yes you are right, and unlike me these new features are not going to depreciate my vehicle unless I choose to buy it after the lease.

But leasing this car makes that much more sense- why invest in a car that in 3 years is going to be so loaded with new features the only way to resale the old ones with degraded batteries is to offer them a cheap price? Good luck with that. I'm glad I leased this thing as its like a computer, every 6 months it's obsolete. Just wait until the bigger battery packs come out - the resale values are going to mimic the Titantic.

Then can you help me understand why you are "pissed"? It seems to me that you are angry over the one thing that you just said is something to expect - obsolescence - and the underpinning reason of why you leased the car. Yet now you are "pissed" because the car you are about to receive is going to be obsolete. Do you see the irony?

Congrat's offset!!

This absolutely rocks!

I'm with you!! Bravo Tesla indeed!!

I am uber-psyched for December now :)... freaking awesome car / company / and CEO!

Ok... sure nobody and no company is "perfect"... would I like to have door pockets, a pop-down sunglasses holder, and free center console... not to mention cup holders in back seat... sure.

BUT... that is pretty small stuff compared to these extremely cool new safety features!... not to even speak of how the car drives, it's drivetrain, etc.

I am very happy to be part of the electric car vanguard and to contribute toward the spread of such great technology.

Indeed... word of mouth... how many Tesla ad's do you see on TV?? None... lol... you don't need ad's when your car just SPANKS everything else out there!!

To compare... ok... so Acura has the new TLX... my current car is a TSX so I'm an Acura fan, but look, Acura has to blow massive advertising wads telling us "It's that kind of thrill!"... lol... ummm... nobody had to tell me about the thrill I experienced when I drove a Model S! lol...

Tesla really is SPANKING all other car makers... in my so very humble opinion. :)... so much so that Elon was "downplaying" the Model S, I think to make way for the Model X.

About the word of mouth stuff:

Musk says four Model S sedans are sold by word-of-mouth, rather than by conventional marketing, for every one sold as a result of someone walking into a store off the street.

"I don't think we're going to need an enormous amount of stores. We'll have some flagships in major markets," he said. "What will sell cars in the long term will be other customers -- word-of-mouth."

Elon Musk talks future of Tesla

Interesting article...

Found this article, it has some interesting screen shots of what shows up on the monitor.

Just got off the phone with my DS. I'm happy to say that I will have it on my car. It's a new feature that was introduced with a couple of sensors that have been added to the front of the car as most of you have pointed out.

Guess this is another reason to like Tesla... The honor of just including items to peoples cars in hopes that we will all be brand ambassadors. I guess all is good in the world as we are all pretty much a collective marketing department for Tesla, and I'm fine with that!

Bravo Tesla, B-R-A-V-O:cool:
