Delivery specialist called me Sunday, right when I was going to walk into Tesla to complain and told me 10-12 more days. Later that day I was prompted to make my final payment and checked the source code and saw that my VIN was there. I called the delivery center back today and said I got a text saying my vehicle was ready(I really didnt) and they scheduled my delivery for 6/10 because my vehicle was in transit.

This process is crazy.

Ordered Blue SR+ last Friday. Sorry for stupid Q but how do I see the VIN in the source? Is it still 'EncodedVIN'? On the main page or the manage page?

Go to your reservation page:
Tesla SSO – Login

Once loaded, right click on an empty part of the page, go to "view source" or "view page source"

Then do a search for "5YJ"
If you find an occurance of that, then that's your VIN. It'll look like this on the page:
"vin":"5YJ3E1EA0KFxxxxxx"

If you don't get a "hit" for the 5YJ then you don't have an assigned VIN yet.

Once you are assigned a VIN that means you have a car assigned to you somewhere; it usually is then about to be shipped to you and then you should be contacted in some fashion.

Thank you and those others who responded! Much appreciated.

Looks like I don't yet. :(

configuration: SR, Black/Black

Location: San Jose, California.

Placed order on Friday 5/24/2018. Got text message today and scheduled for delivery tomorrow 6/3/2019.

Don't worry too much about 6~8 week delivery estimation. I think it's triggered once you have modified/downgraded the car.

Looks like I struck gold.

Ordered 5/26 (SR, non-plus, white on black w/ aeros). Got text today that it's ready to schedule pickup, earliest date is June 6th. From order to delivery that would be 1.5 weeks (even though it said on account page 6-8 weeks). The sales associated guaranteed me that the '6-8 weeks' was just out of caution and that he strongly believed I'd get it in 2-4 weeks. He was right.

VIN is showing on account page (no need to look at source code), 337xxx.

I am taking delivery of my new SR+ tomorrow afternoon. I was lucky enough to find the exact configuration I wanted in local inventory. (SR+ Blue/White/Wheel Upgrade). I have set the appointment following the link sent via text message and the appointment is reflected in my account "Manage" page. However, I just chatted with customer service (through the main Tesla site and I have not yet been assigned a Delivery Advisor.

I was hoping to change my Home Delivery to a pickup at the Delivery Center, which is only 14 miles from my house. How long does it usually take for a Delivery Advisor to be assigned? I feel like I don't really have a point of contact yet and I am almost 24H from delivery. Has this happened to anyone else?

Second question...I want to look over the car before making the final payment. I will be paying for the car outright and do not have a trade. Do I need to bring a Cashier's Check or will they accept a Personal Check? (I am in Colorado BTW). Can I just make electronic payment at the time of delivery? I don't want my failure to pay in advance through the "Manage" page to delay delivery.

I have left a message at the delivery center, but I am getting antsy and was hoping you guys had some opinions to share...thanks!

You should call the 888-51-Tesla number and speak with someone from Sales. Someone can definitely get you a owner adviser set up.

Also for the check, you should be able to just do a normal check. It's processed immediately, so it's not like the money needs to be guaranteed like a cashier's. Modern technology is modern. :) I don't work for Tesla, so I can't be 100% sure there aren't limits on that, but I'm paying a substantial amount with a personal check in a few days, and I've been told that can be just fine because it's processed in the same way.

Thanks for your reply! I just got off the phone with the Delivery Advisor. I was set for Home Delivery tomorrow at 2:00. He walked outside checked the status of my car and said the car is ready to go if you want it early. I said, "how early can I pick it up?" and he said, "how about 3:00 this afternoon?" I am SO freaking excited. My wife is going to meet me at the delivery center in 1.5 hours and pick up our new TM3.

So far, I have used the Chat feature on the web site 3-4 times and now chatted with the local Delivery Advisor and every experience with customer service has been top notch. I am very impressed. Hopefully by tonight, I will be out of the "Waiting Room" thread...good luck everyone!
