That in itself is infuriating. Tesla has never been known for its service and communication and now with the increased demand; they weren't able to keep up before, they're definitely not able to keep up now.

I would give that mechanic a little bonus tip for that haha, he essentially saved you a few days of waiting around!!

He sure did!! And, since it wasn’t transmission-related, they charged me $0 to diagnose and pick me up from my home!! There’s a reason they have 60 cars waiting to be diagnosed and all 5-star ratings! I’d say if anyone needs a transmission service, I have the best mechanic.. but who am I kidding? We’ll be driving EVs before too long.. maybe.

I emailed my SA, waited 3-4 days, and no reply. If you email auto finance, they will pair you with your SA but it appears to have some much higher importance/urgency because then and only then did my SA reply back to me after making the config change. Took about 1 day for them to make the payment change.

Quick update and a shout-out to Baytomax. I emailed [email protected] and they reset the payment option within 10 minutes!

Called the 888 number (given a few pages ago) today to see if I could get more insight into my EDD. The person who answered (at the Owings Mills SC) sounded frustrated, and I’m sure they are tired of fielding these types of calls. He said only headquarters employees have deeper insight into our orders but everyone else can only see what we do. He said the current estimated date if you order today is 7-12 weeks. My current EDD is outside of that range at 12-14 weeks. When I mentioned that, he just seemed irritated and reiterated that there is nothing he can do to help me. Guess I just have to keep waiting and hope my EDD is off by like 4-6 weeks I just don’t want to lose out on this used car market and I don’t have the option to trade elsewhere while waiting. Fingers crossed.

One suggestion i have in regards to the lucrative used car market is to use carvana. Once you lock in your quote, its good for 30 days. If you dont get the Tesla within that timeframe, you can just resubmit the vehicle details for an updated quote and restart your 30 days.

You sure about that? I just did a quote on my Audi A4 with Carvana on Sunday (they by far have the highest trade-in values that I've seen). They specifically state:

On this page, they will ask you for additional paperwork to set up the appointment. I sold my 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid (after I placed my M3 order). Below is a screenshot of my wife's SUV offer that i submitted a quote for this morning.

Emailed my SA today because he was able to pull up a manufacture timeline with more accurate estimates.

He got back to me today saying he no longer has access when he logs into the system, but is checking with his manager to see if he can request access.

First I've ever heard of this, but I trust him. I've seen him in person a few times so far.... I'll edit/reply to this if he has any other info

I pushed my delivery date back. How you ask? I ordered all my accessories! If I didn't order them, would probably have the car in two days, with none of the extras

Based on what I hear about 'Tesla way', I'm sure he really did not know anything more than what's shown on your account page. But the real question is why was he irritated to answer a simple question. Isn't answering call part of his job that he is getting paid for? Tesla really doesn't train their employees

Great advice. I would also recommend chatting on the Tesla website. You may get passed around a couple of times, but someone should be able to make that modification to your payment method. If for some reason they can’t through the chat, ask them to provide you with the order support email address for the location you’ll be picking up from. I’ve never heard from my SA, but I’ve had good success with emailing order support. Good luck, keep us updated!

Not yet! My EDD is identical to yours. I m picking up in Buena Park, and I’ve found emailing them gets more information than what the Tesla account info provides. The rep who emailed me yesterday said it looks like delivery will be in the next two weeks based on factory output, but I won’t be holding my breath
