I've been keeping an eye open for permits, but so far it doesn't look like they've pulled them yet. :(

There's also a "Columbus" location coming this year too, but no idea where...
Permits are pulled under weird "shell" corporations in some areas. That is at least for things like service centers. Look up the registered name for Cleveland and Cincinnati service locations.

well one of the people at the easton store said that the new store/service center that's going into the old hh gregg building in easton was going to have superchargers!

Yea, the Columbus SC was kind of the odd man out in this regard. Most SCs have superchargers. The thing to keep in mind here is that they usually only install 2. They're located inside the service bays. Their priority is for vehicles being serviced, loaners, and inventory. They'll let you use them during business hours if they don't need them, or if you're in a bind.

The exception would be if this location is designated as the 3rd planned spot for a full supercharging site in Columbus. Which would then earmark the possible downtown location for next years plans.

Is it normal for the construction phase to take this long? It seems like most of these Meijer parking lot SCs went up faster.
It all varies. I've religiously watched several chargers go up over the years and the delays stem from 1 of 3 places:
1. Initial permitting and agreement (we don't generally see this since we don't know the site is permitted until it has a permit)
2. Contractor weather delays (contractors like to get paid so delays on their part are almost always because they can't work, not because they don't want to)
3. Utility hookup (if you an believe it, utilities are busy and there really is no incentive to prioritize things of this nature)

The delays are never because project cost over-run, lack of Tesla people getting plans submitted, getting Tesla people out to test/finalize, delay of parts shipments, etc.

There are several AEP trucks working near the superchargers today (8/6). No transformer yet, though.
