Stopped by Blue Heron last night and got up to 190kW at 25%. Battery was probably cold due to preheating for Maumee. Now we just need one at a service plaza near Youngstown so we can skip Strongsville or Sheffield!
It just occurred to me that this won't really help too many people because nobody will know about it. It doesn't show up as a charger on Tesla's web site. PlugShare doesn't show them yet. The eastbound charger shows on ABRP, but not the westbound.
This is incredible. Just drove through from NYC>Grand Rapids yesterday and they were not displayed. The chargers are currently live as available on tesla.com/findus
Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas!

Isn't it on an East/West highway???Unfortunately, Tesla has decided to name these Genoa, OH (NB) and Genoa, OH (SB). Having the travel plaza in the name seems much more useful. Either way, it'd be nice if they named things consistently.
Tweet at @teslacharging. I agree it’s helpful (and consistent) to include the travel plaza name. But at the very least, fix the cardinal directions problem. 😂Unfortunately, Tesla has decided to name these Genoa, OH (NB) and Genoa, OH (SB). Someone beat me to it in a reply to @TeslaCharging, but I followed up:Tweet at @teslacharging. I agree it’s helpful (and consistent) to include the travel plaza name. But at the very least, fix the cardinal directions problem.
The last two spots were added in an upgrade some years after the initial set up, hence, the unusual configuration. One thing that I noticed about the Maumee supercharger when I passed through the area in September is that it is a somewhat weird setup; the sequence of charger stalls is 1A, 2A, 3A, 1B, 2B, 3B, 4A, 4B.
Supercharger construction, once started, is much faster than it once was. One of the reasons is shown here: prefab pedestal foundations. They were once all individually formed on site. Some locations also use above ground connections on prefab slabs.
It is a good choice for those routes though, I think, a better I-75 choice is the Toledo Supercharger several miles north.Superchargers on the Ohio Turnpike will help relieve pressure from east-west drivers on the Maumee supercharger; through traffic using this supercharger I would expect to be people using I-75 or US 23.
Tesla also added a new SC in just off of I-75 in Findlay last fall. This is good for those going all the way up and down I-75, but also for those going to Columbus. It is a good choice for those routes though, I think, a better I-75 choice is the Toledo Supercharger several miles north.
Not sure what you mean by too early. If you are asking if the route is viable, by all means yes. I used to drive from Indiana to NYC occasionally over OH and PA turnpike, but that was over five years ago. I had to get off the turnpike to charge, but that was not really a big deal. Now there are chargers in some of the rest stops. Stick your EZ-Pass to the roof glass, and get going!Hi Everyone, new MYLR owner here and planning first trip. Is it too early to make the DC to MI trip via PA and OH turnpike? It sounds like the rest stops are getting some sort of EV chargers, so we're ready to visit family over easter.
