This seems a rather pointless discussion. One person's "pretty good" is another person's "not so hot".

6 or even 7 is a rate of one every 80 hours compared to Elon's estimate of one every 20 hours worldwide. even if we only get 1/2 in the US we should still be at the rate of one every 40 hours.

At the rate of 7 per month the Supercharger network will not be completed in the US for another 5 years.

They will keep on expanding the Tesla Supercharger network for many years to come. The distance inbetween Supercharger stations will get shorter and shorter as the network will get more and more dense.

Yes but they need it to be substantially complete with the introduction of Model 3 not 5 years from now. I am not saying the progress is bad cause it is not. But I would categorize it more like a 3-4 on a scale of 10. Tesla is not meeting any of their stated and published goals. Yes they are lofty goals but they need to be lofty. Gen 3 buyers are not going to be as forgiving as the early adapters have been. And I want it built out for my Gen 3

If you poll MS owners, the majority charge at home and only use Superchargers when doing road trips or for people who have long commutes like I do. When the Model 3 comes out, I'm sure there will be a lot more Superchargers (especially in areas where people can't charge from home), but if the Model 3 is aimed towards the average consumer, the average person commutes only 25 miles each way and will not need Superchargers on a daily basis.

The more Superchargers the better of course but I don't see the slower rollout as negative.

Tesla has completed the goal they set at launch. Take a look at the original numbers and pictures. Less than 200 in North America by the end of 2015 when the network launched in 2012. Most people thought they were crazy.

They have tried and succeeded in enlarging their "goal" but they certainly DID meet it already.

Also, omitting EU, China and Japan Superchargers is only telling a very small part of the story.

Tesla has opened 135 Supercharger since January 3, 2014. Or 14/month.

I would categorize this as a 9/10.

If Tesla continues on their current trajectory, then during the next 26 months until 1/1/2017 M3 launch, Tesla will open 364 Superchargers. If M3 doesn't launch until 6/15/2017, then Tesla should be able to open 448 MORE Superchargers by M3 launch.

Oh, and we haven't even mentioned the hundreds of HPWCs installed throughout the US at hotels and other destinations.

I was charging there yesterday evening! Very nice set up, and it's about time... Finally, no more anxiety driving to and from OC!

Stopped by yesterday for supplies at Whole Foods and was impressed to see 7-stalls occupied when I came out at about 2pm!

I am impressed at Tesla's Supercharger team for their forethought, going large with 10 charger slots, the largest Supercharger station I've seen.

Has any one kept up on the statistics of Supercharger stations?
Specifically:
What is the list of stations by rollout dates?
Is this really the 200th station worldwide? (we should put a plaque on it if it's #200.
What is the distribution of stations by number of stalls? and what is the greatest # of stalls?

Oxnard Supercharger mis-direction on Tesla-Google map

Regarding the Tesla-Google map program's incorrect directions to the Oxnard Supercharger, Tesla Motors have heard our concerns, I received this reply last night:

"Hello Mr. Rosenbloom,

Thank you for contacting Tesla Motors Technical Support regarding your feedback about the navigation instructions to the Oxnard, CA Supercharger. We appreciate your quick feedback on this issue. I heard the same complaint from another customer this weekend. I have notified the Supercharger team and included the helpful photos you provided, so that they can work to resolve this.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Supercharging team didn't do anything wrong, its the navigation thats messed up. Even if I search & navigate to The Collections Mall I get the same directions...

Google maps navigating to the mall is 8 minutes less, Tesla navigation has been unreliable & now with v6 its even worse, I use Google maps for a unfamiliar destinations & Waze the rest of the time.
